The official Formula One game for the 2024 season, EA Sports F1 24 is up for release on May 31 with a hugely revamped career mode that developers are calling the “most significant upgrade” since 2016.
In a deep dive video released, the development team outlined the marquee new features coming to this year’s career mode experience. Chief among them is the ability for players to compete as one of the 20 real-world drivers from the 2024 Formula One season.
Taking control of drivers like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, or upcoming rookie Logan Sargeant, players will be able to define their racing legacy like never before. Career mode has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer an unprecedented level of immersion and connectivity.
One of the biggest changes is enhanced integration between Formula One and Formula Two. F1 24’s career mode will provide “even more ways to connect across F1 and F2” according to Codemasters. This opens up new possibilities for players to work their way up the junior ranks before making the leap to motorsport’s pinnacle competition.
The ambitious overhaul to career mode is clearly a response to feedback from the F1 gaming community. By putting players in the racing suits of their heroes, while tying the two premier open-wheel series together, F1 24 aims to deliver the most authentic racing experience yet.
The upgraded career mode promises to be a massive draw for both franchise veterans and newcomers alike when F1 24 arrives on May 31.
