The iconic Volkswagen Camper, loved by many, is now a 1963 Type 2 Assetto Corsa mod created by Lucas-Mods. The Type 2 Kombi/Camper (Split-screen) was produced from 1949 to 1968.

The concept for the Type 2 is credited to Dutch Volkswagen importer Ben Pon. He first sketched the van in a doodle dated 23 April 1947, proposing a payload of 690 kg (1,520 lb) and placing the driver at the very front. The first official Volkswagen T2 van was put into production on November 12th, 1949.
