Cooper Webster emerged victorious in the 2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup season, which concluded after seven demanding races.
The 2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup season has concluded after seven exciting races. Cooper Webster from Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing has emerged as the champion on the iRacing platform.
Even though Gustavo Ariel celebrated his first Feature Race victory of the season in the final event, the day belonged to Webster. He had already accumulated enough points before this last race to secure the championship title.
Consistent Performance Leads to Victory
Webster’s strategy wasn’t about winning every single race. Instead, he focused on maintaining a consistent performance throughout the entire season. This steady approach allowed him to build a significant lead in the standings long before the final race weekend.
Actually, by Sunday morning in his time zone, Webster had already secured enough points to be crowned champion. Consequently, the final race felt more like a celebration of his achievement rather than a tense battle for the title.
Maintaining the Top Spot
As the final race weekend approached, Webster held a comfortable lead in the championship standings. He was 40 points ahead of Jordan Caruso and 75 points ahead of Mitchell deJong, both representing the Team Indian Racing Festival by APPL.
During the qualifying session for the final race, Webster secured the second position on the starting grid. He positioned his virtual car behind his teammate and the previous year’s champion, Sebastian Job.
Caruso qualified in fourth place, surrounded by drivers supported by Red Bull. Gustavo Ariel and Diogo Pinto, both from Team Redline, started the race in third and fifth positions, respectively.
Sprint Race Success Extends Lead
Webster’s aim in the Sprint race was to further increase his lead in the championship. His goal was to move more than 50 points ahead of Caruso, and he successfully achieved this. Webster won the final Sprint race of the season, while Caruso finished in fifth place.
This result extended Webster’s lead to 53 points. At this point, Caruso’s only chance to win the championship was to win the Feature race and hope that Webster finished significantly behind him.
A Dramatic Conclusion
During the Feature race, Webster was involved in an early incident and received a penalty. However, the substantial points advantage he had built throughout the season allowed him to remain in the lead.
Caruso put up a strong fight and ultimately finished in third place. While this was a good result, it wasn’t enough to overtake Webster in the overall standings. Gustavo Ariel claimed victory in the Feature race, but Webster secured the championship title, finishing just 14 points ahead of Caruso.
Years of Dedication Pay Off
Webster’s championship victory was the result of consistent effort over several seasons. This was his fourth year competing in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup.
He finished tenth in 2022, improved to eighth in 2023, and came close to the title in 2024 with a fourth-place finish, while his teammate Sebastian Job won the championship that year.
Now, after years of steady progress, Webster becomes the fifth different driver to win the championship in the series’ seven-year history. He joins the esteemed group of Joshua Rogers and Sebastian Job (both two-time winners), as well as previous champions Diogo Pinto and Jordan Caruso.
Final Awards and Recognition
Sebastian Job earned the final TAG Heuer Pole Award of the season, making him the sixth different driver to start a race from pole position in the past seven events.
Despite this, Caruso’s consistent performance in qualifying sessions throughout the season earned him the overall Pole Award. His reward for this achievement is a special edition TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche watch.
As for Webster, his championship victory comes with significant recognition and a substantial prize. He will receive $50,000 from the total prize pool of $200,000.
