PISTA Motorsport

The early access phase of PISTA Motorsport sees a substantial update, introducing new control features and resolving several important bugs.

PISTA Motorsport, still in its early access phase, is releasing a significant update focusing on both feature enhancements and critical bug fixes. These updates aim to improve the overall gameplay experience and address key issues that players have encountered.

New Features

Several new features have been added to enhance customization and control. Players now have the option to use throttle and brake on a combined axis, providing more flexibility in control configurations. Additionally, the HUD has seen notable improvements with new customization options and the introduction of a minimap, allowing for better on-track awareness.

A joystick steering mode has also been introduced, catering to players who prefer this control method. To improve pre-session planning, a car preview option has been added to the pre-session menu, giving players a clear view of their selected vehicle before entering the race.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

The update addresses several critical issues that were affecting gameplay. VR functionality has been refined, with VR now only enabled when entering in OpenXR mode, preventing unnecessary performance hits. A bug affecting skidmarks on wet tracks has been fixed, ensuring accurate track visuals under varying weather conditions.

Cockpit lighting has been improved, resolving previous issues with incorrect lighting effects. Other lighting-related fixes include general lightning bugs and ambient occlusion (AO) improvements.

Additional fixes include expanding the seat movement range, resolving a bug that caused invalid lap times after returning to the pits, and fixing issues with setup loading. The update also increases shadow distance, enhancing visual depth and realism on track.

Early Access Development

As PISTA Motorsport continues to develop in early access, these updates reflect the team’s commitment to refining the game based on player feedback. The newly added features and bug fixes are essential steps toward improving gameplay and ensuring a polished final product.
