With an evaluation on event 3, Williams Esports is looking forward to event 4 coming up in the F1 Esports Pro Championship.
Williams Esports will be giving it everything in the F1 Esports Pro Championship with event 4 on the horizon. The team gives an analysis of event 3 and how they never give up. With event 4 starting up on December 14th, Suzuka will be the first destination for the final races.
Seb Hawkins, Williams Esports Team Manager: “A fantastic race week for the team saw us eradicating the mistakes we were making in qualifying and getting the car in the best position for the races. With more consistent appearances in Q3, we were able to execute strategy perfectly and achieve great race pace alongside. Performances have definitely improved as we were able to make last-minute setup changes to extract more in qualifying. Achieving points in all three races with all three drivers was excellent and we narrowed the gap to the teams in front. We will now work closely together as a team to continue to improve and if we follow the same trajectory, I believe we can be competing at the top in time for Event 4.”
Alvaro Carreton: “I was gutted to not be able to race after a game bug on Thursday as I had great race pace. It was great however to be back among the points on Friday at COTA, and if it wasn’t for my penalty I would have achieved a P5 result. Next event we will be back stronger and we can make sure that are performances keep improving after our best week of the season.”
Shanaka Clay: “It all finally came together for me this week and I was delighted with my performance at Mexico as we were able to combine a great qualifying strategy with great race pace. To get my first points in F1 Esports was a great feeling. As we take a week off ahead of the next event, I’m ready to put my head down and get some more points for the team in the final event.”
Daniele Haddad: “It was great to finally get some points on board for the team after showing some race pace alongside qualifying skills. It’s been a tough week after jumping in at the last minute for Álvaro on Thursday meaning I couldn’t prep as much for Friday, but I was happy with my ability to help my teammates and guarantee some points for the team.”
Event 4 Build Up
Daniele Haddad: “Suzuka is the track where I scored my only podium in F1 Esports a couple of years ago, so it is one that is very close to my heart. “I really love the first sector in particular where every corner is connected to one another and the car flows really smoothly. However it is extremely technical and we must be sure to practise it till we can nail the kerbs every time. “At Suzuka it is very difficult to overtake with there only being the one back straight as well, so qualifying will be crucial. With dynamic weather still in the mix, anything can happen.”
Shanaka Clay: “Interlagos is a very short track that still manages to have a lot of challenges. The middle sector in particular you can gain or lose a lot of time very easily, but then the long end straight is a great chance to overtake other drivers as we often see in real life as well. “The weather in Brazil is often chaotic and when you mix that with the drama that always comes at the end of a season, you know that it will be a great race for the fans (maybe not the drivers!).”
Alvaro Carreton: “Abu Dhabi is a great track with a layout that is way more enjoyable to drive compared to the previous layout. This doesn’t mean it is easy! Although it might look like a simple track from the outside, it is quite difficult to go through the kerbs and keep the tyres at an optimal temperature throughout, something that we know will be a key factor in qualifying and the race. “As we enter into the last event of the season, it is important for us to keep the momentum of Event 3 going and push on to get more points. It’s our last chance to move up the standings and we will do everything we can to battle near the top.”
