Forza Motorsport is evolving based on player feedback, with new content and features, will the glory days be coming back?
Forza Motorsport is set to receive a series of substantial updates that will expand its offerings with new cars, tracks, and features designed to enhance gameplay. These updates reflect the ongoing commitment of the developers to regularly refine and enrich the game while addressing player feedback.
Cars and Tracks
The upcoming updates will allow players to unlock reward cars either through the Career mode’s Featured Tour or by participating in a set number of races in Featured Multiplayer. This dual-option system will debut in Update 12, scheduled for mid-September, which also introduces a new Challenge Hub. The Challenge Hub will enable players to earn credits, cars, race suits, and other rewards by completing various objectives, catering to different playstyles, including Career mode, Multiplayer, and Rivals.
Two additional tracks will be added to Forza Motorsport before the end of the year. Sunset Peninsula, returning for the first time since Forza Motorsport 4, will be available in Update 13 in mid-October. Bathurst will make its comeback in December’s Update 15, accompanied by a Featured Tour that celebrates Australian cars and racing culture.
Spectate Mode
A reworked Spectate Mode is set to be released in mid-September as part of the next content update. This mode will feature a range of new functionalities and improvements, including a full-field dynamic driver list, a ticker for dynamic data, and enhanced camera options. These additions are intended to provide a more comprehensive and engaging viewing experience for Private Multiplayer races.
Drift Mode
The developers are actively working on a new Drift Mode, which will be introduced in the coming months. This mode will feature a scoring system based on drift speed, angle, and duration, with scores needing to be “banked” to count. Drift Mode will be available in Free Play and Private Multiplayer, with Drift-specific HUD elements and leaderboards for top scores.
Creative Hub
Later this year, the Media tab in Forza Motorsport will be overhauled and transformed into a Creative Hub, similar to the one in Forza Horizon 5. This hub will house player-created designs, vinyl groups, tunes, photos, and replays, making it easier for the community to browse and discover content.
Weather Customization
The next update will introduce additional weather customization options in Free Play and Private Multiplayer. Players will be able to select specific weather scenarios, such as light rain or dense fog, and set different conditions for the start, mid-race, and end of the race, with adjustable probabilities for weather changes.
Community Involvement and Multiplayer Enhancements
Update 13 will also introduce a Community Choice slot in Featured Multiplayer, where the series will be decided by community vote. The top three choices will be featured in the multiplayer rotation.
Further enhancements include plans to add audio cues to the Car Proximity Radar and refine its functionality based on player feedback. Advanced ghosting systems are also being developed to improve race quality by predicting and preventing common incidents in multiplayer races.
Ongoing Improvements
Forza Race Regulations will receive more frequent updates thanks to increased internal resources, allowing for more accurate race adjudications and penalty distributions. The developers are committed to continuously improving the game with new features, bug fixes, and additional content throughout 2025.
These updates and enhancements demonstrate Forza Motorsport’s ongoing evolution, driven by both community input and the developers’ commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging racing experience.
