This Sunday night, the roar of truck engines will echo around the Pocono three-turn layout in a race that could reshape the championship.
The excitement builds as the CMS Sunday Night Truck Series heads to the “Tricky Triangle” for Race 6 of the 8-race season. Here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming virtual battle at Pocono Raceway.
Race Day Details: Mark Your Calendar
This Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, drivers will face one of the most challenging tracks on the schedule. The evening kicks off at 8:15 PM Eastern with a full hour of practice time. Qualifying begins at 9:15 PM, giving drivers just 5 minutes to complete their 2 hot laps and secure the best possible starting position.
The main event starts at 9:25 PM Eastern. Drivers will tackle 80 laps around Pocono’s unique triangle layout, with the race expected to last nearly 2 hours.
Setup Basics: What You Need to Know
This is a FIXED setup race, meaning everyone will use the standard pocono_2016 truck configuration. Additionally, this ensures a level playing field where driver skill, rather than setup wizardry, determines the outcome.
The race features a rolling start, and each driver gets one fast repair to bounce back from damage. Weather conditions will mirror realistic June weather patterns at Pocono, with the track surface evolving dynamically throughout the race.
Strategy Elements
Tire management will be critical, as teams have just 4 sets of tires for the entire race. However, fuel strategy also comes into play with tanks limited to 100% capacity.
The damage model is set to 20x, meaning even minor contact can lead to significant performance issues. In case of a late caution, there will be one Green-White-Checker attempt to finish under green flag conditions.
Safety First
The entire first lap is designated as an Orange Zone (OZ). Race officials will closely review this portion after the race, and incident reports may be filed for any questionable contact. Keeping it clean early is essential for a successful race day.
How to Join the Action
