Exciting news from Race Sim Studio! They are widely known for their excellent car mods, and they have just launched the Formula 1 RSS 1986 V6 for Assetto Corsa.
At its core, the car boasts a powerful V6 turbo engine. Consequently, driving this car will push your skills, requiring careful control to manage its significant power.
1986 F1 Stats
- Extreme Turbo Power: The defining feature was the engine. Teams used small displacement engines (1.5 litres) boosted by massive turbochargers.
- Huge Horsepower: In race setup, these engines produced anywhere from 850 to over 1000 horsepower. For qualifying, with special settings and tyre compounds, power figures often climbed much higher, with some estimates suggesting peaks of 1300-1400 horsepower for brief periods, particularly from engines like the BMW used by Benetton and Brabham.
- Challenges: This immense power brought challenges. Engines were often unreliable, and managing fuel consumption was critical due to race fuel limits (195 litres for the entire race distance in 1986).
