Back with another top Assetto Corsa mod is Race Sim studio with the MP-H Bayer Hybrid based on the BMW LMDh.
Another fantastic addition to the world of Assetto Corsa comes from Race Sim Studio with their MP-H Bayer Hybrid. This virtual car takes its inspiration from the real-life BMW LMDh race car.
If you’re a fan of IMSA racing, you’ll instantly recognize this new mod. The MP-H Bayer Hybrid packs a punch with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This engine is designed with the cylinders arranged in a 90-degree V-shape. It puts out a controlled 640 horsepower (that’s 477 kilowatts) and a massive 479 pound-feet (or 650 Newton-meters) of twisting force.
BMW has made a big comeback to top-level endurance racing with the M Hybrid V8. This Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) prototype was built to compete in both the IMSA and WEC championships.
This hybrid machine uses a P66/3 turbocharged V8 engine along with a standard electric motor. Together, they produce over 500 horsepower, easily going beyond 200 miles per hour.
The M Hybrid V8 is a technological marvel, crafted by the well-known Dallara. It’s specifically designed for tough, long races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona.
During its 2023 debut in IMSA, the M Hybrid V8 showed its strength by achieving one victory and finishing on the podium five times. Now, in 2024, it’s set to compete globally in both IMSA and WEC, with the experienced BMW M Team RLL leading the charge.
The M Hybrid V8 is more than just a fast car. It shows BMW’s dedication to hybrid technology, linking innovations from the racetrack to their road cars. It also brings back the excitement of BMW’s legendary history in endurance racing, reminding us of the V12 LMR’s victory at Le Mans in 1999.
The M Hybrid V8 is ready to shake up the world of prototype racing. It adds a strong Bavarian competitor to the field, going up against giants like Audi, Porsche, and Toyota.
