F1 Esports, some big releases on the DLC front and triumph for Team simRACE247 – last week had it all in the world of sim racing.
Monday 16th November saw the launch of the hotly anticipated Nordschliefe update for Automobilista 2. When combined with the new GT cars added in V1.0.5.0, players can recreate the most gruelling event in motorsport with their own Nurburgring (maybe not quite) 24 hours.
rFactor 2 also received some TLC from their developers with Studio-397 releasing a high-resolution version of the much-loved Spa Francorchamps. The DLC, available on the Steam Store, brings both the endurance and GP versions of Spa with those who have already given it a go praising the AI and overall accuracy and feel.
F1 2020 has been updated to version 1.13 on all platforms bringing new languages for commentary, clearer penalty information and an extra sponsor slot for the customisable car. Wednesday night also saw the return of F1 Esports action taking to Silverstone and Spa.
After a run of strong performances for Renault’s Nicolas Longuet, the Frenchman finally took top-honours in the F1 Esports British Grand Prix. Red Bull also continued to shine with Frede Rasmussen victorious in Belgium.
Thursday nights F1 Esports saw David Tonizza recreate Charles Leclerc’s 2019 Monza triumph. With just one event left in the 2020 F1 Esports series, Jarno Opmeer looks a clear favourite to clinch the title but with Frede Rasmussen just 18 points behind with 78 up for grabs, there is still time for things to change.
Assetto Corsa Competizione V1.6.0 and the GTWC DLC brought the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT3 NS Ferrari 488 Evo GT3 as well as the famed Imola circuit. The DLC includes accurate BoP mimicking the GTWC series as well as complete liveries and driver lineups.
