The iRacing FIA F4 Global Esports Championship presented by MOZA offers a high-stakes virtual battle with real-world rewards.
The FIA F4 Global Esports Championship presented by MOZA is looking forward to its second season on iRacing in 2025, building on a successful inaugural year with a larger prize pool.
This eight-race series, spread across four events, will showcase the talents of sim racers from around the world as they compete for a $35,000 reward. These exciting races will be broadcast live on iRacing’s social media channels.
Last season’s competition highlighted top talent like Luke McKeown from the United Kingdom (Europe), who ultimately took the championship. Spanish drivers Alejandro Sánchez and Aaron Vazquezz (also Europe) finished closely behind. Representing the Americas, Chile’s Nicolás Rubilar was the highest-ranking driver, and Japan’s Alejandro Sendra led the Asia-Pacific contingent.
Since iRacing and the FIA joined forces in mid-2023, nearly 100,000 drivers have utilized the virtual F4 car. This platform serves as a crucial training ground for many aspiring to enter real-world racing. The FIA F4 Regional Tours, with their focus on regional tracks, provide a simulated experience that mirrors the initial steps of a professional racing career.
FIA Formula 4 Car Stats (General Specifications):
While specific in-game stats might vary slightly within iRacing, the real-world FIA Formula 4 car generally features:
- Engine: Typically a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine.
- Power Output: Around 160 bhp (brake horsepower).
- Gearbox: Sequential gearbox.
- Chassis: Monocoque chassis built to FIA safety standards.
- Weight: Approximately 570 kg (without the driver).
- Top Speed: Around 210-230 km/h (130-143 mph), depending on the track and gearing.
Beyond the global championship, iRacing has also collaborated with over 80 FIA national sporting authorities (ASNs). This partnership aids in supporting new sim racers globally and in establishing numerous national-level championship series.
Qualifying for the FIA F4 Global Esports Championship presented by MOZA remains accessible to all iRacing members through participation in the FIA F4 Regional Tour series during the third season of 2025, which begins in mid-June.
The top 10 eligible drivers from each Regional Tour’s championship standings will receive an invitation to the main Championship. To be eligible, drivers must provide official identification (Passport or ID card) from their intended region of representation.
The event schedule includes doubleheader race weekends on October 25th, November 8th, November 22nd, and the final races on December 6th. These events will start on the first server at 18:40 GMT, with 15-minute races at each track following practice and qualifying.
Adding a strategic element, the specific tracks for each event will only be announced 24 hours prior to the race. This will require drivers to quickly adapt their strategies. Additionally, all drivers will compete with identical car setups, ensuring a fair test of driving skill.
