A new chapter in virtual motorsport begins as MoneyGram Haas F1 Team reveals its fresh lineup for the 2025 F1 Sim Racing World Championship.

The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is entering its tenth Formula 1 season with fresh faces in its sim racing division. The team will start their campaign at the EFG studio in Stockholm, Sweden on January 14.

Three talented drivers will represent the team in partnership with R8G Esports:

  • Shanaka Clay brings solid racing experience, having competed against current F1 stars Lando Norris and George Russell in karting. The British driver has already proven himself with two PSGL F1 victories and previous F1 Sim Racing experience from 2022.
  • Tamás Gál joins as a newcomer for 2025. The Hungarian driver comes with impressive credentials as a former PSGL F2 Champion.
  • Joris Croezen, a 17-year-old from the Netherlands, rounds out the team as an exciting young prospect.

Shanaka Clay, MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team driver, said: “I am incredibly happy to be a part of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team for the upcoming season of F1 Sim Racing. I have admired this team for a long time in the real world, as they have come a long way since 2016.

To be operating at such a high level in 2024 is extremely impressive and aligns with my values to maximize everything you have, no matter the circumstances. I am very pleased to be a part of this atmosphere and thank the team for putting their trust in me. I look forward to getting on track with my teammates and having a great season of racing.”

Tamás Gál, MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team driver, said: “I’m thrilled to join Haas for my first F1 Esports season. My main goals are to learn as much as possible and consistently deliver strong performances. I’m fully committed to helping the team progress and have a solid season.”

Joris Croezen, MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team driver, said: “I’m really excited to compete with MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team. After great preparation, we will try to get the best results possible for the team. The season will be intense, and as one of the few rookies on the grid alongside very experienced drivers, I will focus on making constant progress, on being consistent, and to fight for a podium.”

Romain Grosjean, Founder of R8G, said: “Here we go again for another exciting season of F1 Sim Racing, and our fourth year working with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. Like always, we’ve worked hard since last season to prepare some of the best youngsters on the scene and we bring two amazing rookies to the grid this season in Tamás and Joris, with a lot of potential, alongside a fast and experienced driver in Shanaka Clay.

Every year, the level rises, and this year will be even more competitive than ever. Alongside our partner, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, we’re going to do our absolute best and aim for the points on a regular basis, and even better if possible.”

The championship spans 12 races across three events, with drivers competing for their share of a $750,000 prize pool. After finishing fifth in the team standings last season with two wins, MoneyGram Haas F1 Sim Racing Team aims to climb higher while developing their young talent.
