The newest free update for F1 22 brings the Shanghai International Circuit and a special edition Ferrari livery.
For those that enjoy F1 or the F1 22 game, a new free update has brought the addition of the Shanghai International Circuit as well as the special edition Ferrari Livery.
F1® 22 just had an update across all platforms and with it comes some exciting new additions for all players to enjoy. Alongside a host of bug fixes, the Shanghai International Circuit, a special edition Ferrari livery, and a Moon Festival-themed event are now available.
Shanghai International Circuit
Following last month’s inclusion of Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (aka Portimao), comes China’s Shanghai International Circuit – available now for all players in F1® 22.
Last raced in F1® back in 2019, the Shanghai International Circuit is best known for its sweeping turns one and two, a pair of mammoth straights, and multiple sets of technical corner combinations.
Lewis Hamilton was the last driver to win at the 5.451km circuit ahead of his former teammate Valtteri Bottas. Of the sixteen occasions F1® has visited Shanghai, just three drivers – Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and Fernando Alonso – have come away victorious on more than one occasion.
F1® 22 is the only place you’ll be able to see how well the new era of Formula 1® cars perform around this circuit. Head to Grand Prix, Time Trial, and Multiplayer modes to see how you get on.

Special Ferrari Livery
Unveiled ahead of their home Grand Prix in Monza last week, Ferrari raced in a unique livery to commemorate the occasion. We’re delighted to share that for a limited time, this special Giallo Modena livery replaces the current Scuderia Ferrari F1-75 design in F1® 22.
Not only is the striking yellow accented livery in-game but so are the updated helmets, gloves, boots, and overalls of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as well as the attire of the Ferrari pit crew, all of whom were dressed to impress.
The special Giallo Modena Ferrari updates will be in-game for just a few weeks, so head to the track and check them out while you still can.
Moon Festival Event
To celebrate the Moon Festival, you will also be able to take on a special in-game challenge with a featured weekly event titled “A Bright Start to F1.” Racers must steer rookie Zhou Guanyu to his best-ever finish in Formula 1® by overtaking his childhood hero Fernando Alonso and team-mate Valtteri Bottas with six laps to go in the Singapore Grand Prix.
From September 12 to 25, players who finish 7th or above in the event will unlock a customisable Kohaku Koi car livery. Head to Mutliplayer > Weekly Event to give it a go.
We’ve still got plenty more for you to look forward to in F1® 22, including F2™ 22 and the Sports Update. Make sure you’re following us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and the official YouTube channel for all the latest news.
