The Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 category DLC is set for release today January 24th on the Steam Store, the major highlight of this DLC is the inclusion of the iconic Red Bull Ring circuit.
Red Bull Ring
Nestled in Spielberg, Austria, the Red Bull Ring is a 4.3-kilometer racing circuit that blends high-speed straights with challenging curves. Known for its mountainous surroundings, the track features famed turns like “Remus” and “Rindt.” With ample runoff areas, the Red Bull Ring has earned its status as an internationally renowned and technically demanding circuit, having hosted prestigious motorsport events.
Introducing the Mercedes-AMG GT2: Power and Precision
To complement the GT2 lineup, Assetto Corsa Competizione introduces the Mercedes-AMG GT2. Derived from the street version Mercedes-AMG GT R, this powerhouse undergoes significant modifications for enhanced competition performance.
Under the hood, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 roars with 707 horsepower, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car features independent suspension on all four wheels, competition-grade shock absorbers, and ventilated ceramic disc brakes.
The aerodynamic prowess of the Mercedes-AMG GT2 is a sight to behold. With a large rear wing, rear diffuser, and front splitter, it’s optimized to generate substantial downforce. Weighing in at 1,500 kg, the power-to-weight ratio stands at 2.1 kg/HP. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 2.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 325 km/h.
