The historic city of Joplin, Missouri, will be the star of the American Truck Simulator upcoming DLC, celebrating its rich history and mineral resources.
The upcoming Missouri DLC for American Truck Simulator will spotlight the historic city of Joplin. Established in 1873, Joplin rose to prominence due to its rich deposits of zinc and lead.
However, after the decline of the mining industry in the early 1900s, the city shifted towards other unique industries. These developments will be faithfully represented in the DLC, offering players a chance to explore Joplin’s industrial evolution.
A highlight of the DLC is the inclusion of historic Route 66, which runs through downtown Joplin. Players can cruise along this iconic highway as it winds its way through the heart of the city, passing notable landmarks such as the Route 66 mural park.
This park features two large tile murals—Cruisin’ into Joplin and The American Ribbon—paying tribute to the golden era of the Mother Road. The DLC also includes the classic-era red sports car located just below the murals, providing an ideal spot for screenshots.
The Missouri DLC also captures Joplin’s ongoing recovery from the devastating 2011 tornado, which destroyed much of the city. The game showcases parts of the ongoing reconstruction efforts, allowing players to witness areas still under construction.
American Truck Simulator players can look forward to further updates on the Missouri DLC. In the meantime, players are encouraged to add the Missouri DLC to their Steam Wishlist to support the developers.
