The CMS Formula Renault 3.5 Series in iRacing roars back into virtual action at Mugello, this will be an epic race!

This Wednesday, February 21st, the superb CMS Formula Renault 3.5 iRacing Series fires up on the legendary Mugello (Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello) circuit in Italy. After a brief (scheduled) break for those in the series, it’s time to get back in the sim rig and focus.

You are invited to participate in or view this great series in the demanding FR3.5 single-seaters, renowned for their speed and agility.

The Mugello circuit is one of the all-time greats in the world of motorsport, it has everything from technical highspeed corners, chicanes and the hold-your-breath high-speed straight where it’s time for VMAX.

The Challenging Corners at Mugello

  • San Donato: The tightest and slowest corner after the start
  • Luco: A left-hand bend marking the beginning of a series of corners.
  • Poggio Secco: The highest point on the track, leading into Materassi.
  • Materassi: Similar to Luco but with a wider sweep.
  • Borgo San Lorenzo: Fast exit after an engaging entry.
  • Casanova: Right-hand corner followed by…
  • Savelli: Left-hand corner completing the chicane.
  • Arrabbiata 1: The first of the infamous “angry corners,” the lowest point on the track.
  • Arrabbiata 2: Continues the challenging “angry” sequence.
  • Scarperia: Named after a nearby town, a fast corner exiting onto a straight.
  • Palagio: Right-hand corner leading to…
  • Correntaio: Left-hand corner before another straight.
  • Biondetti 1: Marks the start of another chicane.
  • Biondetti 2: Completes the chicane.
  • Bucine: The final corner before the main straight.

Times and Calendar:

  • Race nights are on Wednesday nights at 8:30 pm Eastern.
  • 8:30 pm – Open practice
  • 9:15 pm – Driver’s meeting
  • 9:20 pm – Private qualifying (10 minutes, 2 laps)
  • 9:30 pm – Race begins
