Women In Sim Racing Eliza Indriani Blog #57

We catch up with Eliza Indriani and her women in sim racing blogs. Lets see what she has in store for this weeks blog.

Eliza Indriani keeps us posted with her weekly women in sim racing blogs, detailing all the events, streams and more.

Hello everyone and welcome to my 57th blog on simrace247! Sorry I’ve been away from sim racing and streaming this past 2 or 3 weeks, I got covid from my trip to Las Vegas. I’m glad all is well now, I’m getting back to my daily routine now, and I’m so excited to share it with you all!

Last week I had a lot of races in Sebring, basically I just had a race at this track to prepare myself for Sebring 12. I never had any races at Sebring before, so I need to gain a lot of experience.

For Sebring I chose to drive the BMW M4 GT3 and the Ferrari 488 Evo. I can tell the M4 is fast, but it doesn’t really suit my driving style. I didn’t like racing here with the M4, I must say I struggled with the M4 but since I switched to Ferrari I can improve my lap time and I started to love this track.

IMSA iRacing Series

In the 2nd week of the season I had a race in the IMSA iRacing series, to prepare myself for the iRacing Special Event: Sebring 12. I like racing at this track, because it’s tricky and it has its own challenge when you’re sharing the track with a LMP2 car or the LMDh. I drove the Ferrari, because I feel most comfortable with this car and also we’ll be driving this car for Sebring 12. That’s why I did the same track and car combo so I can prepare myself better. Start of the race is always tough here. Some incidents happen almost in every corner at the first lap. Glad I can avoid all of them and I was consistent, so I gained some positions.

Honestly, it feels kinda weird to get back on sim racing. I got excited, but on the other hand I feel like all my skills have gone back to zero. I needed to get used to the situation in the race, I needed to adjust the way I brake as well. But luckily I can catch up with it and I had a very nice race in this series. Racing at this track in a multi class race can be tough at first, But after a while you’ll get used to it and enjoy it.

I finished top 10 in class, I gained iR and Safety Rating. I got no incidents during the race, I’m so ready to race on my first Sebring 12!

Sebring 12 with United Sim Team

Last Saturday I had my first Sebring 12 with the United Sim Team. I was teaming up with Sophie Aeronwen and Darren James Dawson. I had an endurance race with Sophie before, but I never teamed up with Darren so this race is going to be fun.Darren did the qualifying and the first 2 hours of driving, we were in the top 10 and the race went pretty well at the start for us. Unfortunately Darren crashed into the wall and we got around 16 minutes of repair. That puts us to P34.

That was unfortunate, but it happens in every endurance race anyway. We still have a lot of time, we can still gain position. Sophie did the next 2 hours of driving, at that moment our plan was to keep our car on the track.

I struggled a bit during my first 2 hours stint, track temperature was around 40 degrees Celsius. I tried my best to be consistent and not send this car to the walls. Although I was 1 second off the pace, I got no incident points and I kept this car in shape.  Unfortunately I crashed once during my last stint and we had to repair the car. We lost 2 positions during the repair. I felt bad about it because we were trying to gain position when that accident happened. But it is what it is, we have to finish the race whatever the result is.

This was the first time I crossed the finish line in an endurance race. We did a great job in this race, although some bad things happened in our 12H race. Sebring is a tough track for sure, but I’m looking forward to doing another race here and improving my lap time.

Next week, I will start my first championship of the year. I’ll be racing in the Lionheart Sportscar Series! Wish me luck for that, and I will stream my POV on my Twitch! Make sure to follow me on Twitch (twitch.tv/elzindriani)  I’m streaming this week from Thursday until Saturday from 20:00 CST. It’s been a while since the last time I streamed, I missed you all so much! Come join my stream and see you in chat!
