Welcome to my ninetieth weekly blog!! This week will be all about real life racing.

Brands Hatch
On Thursday 16-03-2023, we had our first track day at Brands Hatch Indy. Team BRIT and Matt, delivered great work to get the Citroën C1 ready in time. In the morning there were still a few problems with the hand controls, luckily it was fixed, and then we could drive. The C1 is great to drive. The top speed isn’t high, which makes it very important to carry the momentum, and apex speed up.

Raceday
On Sunday 19-03-2023, it was time for our first race, 4 hours at Silverstone Grand Prix Lay-out. I drove together with Asha Silva and Noah Cosby, 2 great rookie drivers. We all didn’t drive with this car at Silverstone, and we didn’t know what to expect. The qualifying was in the morning, 50 minutes, all drivers needed to drive 3 laps. We didn’t qualify last, which was already great. I started the race, I didn’t know what to expect, and wasn’t sitting comfortable in the car.

This will be changed for the second race, I need another HANS device, and a moulded seat. I drove very consistently, but it didn’t feel very fast. Asha was driving the second stint, it was her first race. She drove very fast, and had a very good stint! Noah was driving the last stint, also his first race. He was very fast, but had 2 incidents. Luckily, he could go further, and finished the car. I’m proud of him, he had a difficult time in the car, but just kept going! I’m looking forward to the next race, 22-04-2023 at Oulton Park.

Upcoming races:

  • 29-03-2023: RPM League at Imola
