Last week I had 2 big races on iRacing, I was racing in Bathurst 12 and IMSA Endurance at Nurburgring. I had a great race in these events, let’s read more about it!

iRacing Special Events : Bathurst 12

I was driving with the United Sim Team for Bathurst 12. This was my first race in Bathurst 12, I was so excited to race in this event and deliver a good result for the team. I did a lot of practice, that’s why I didn’t do any regular stream last week. I wanted to perform at my best and work better on my consistency. That’s all you need in an endurance race. Especially in Bathurst 12, it’s all about surviving the race.

I teamed up with Athena Leclerc and Patrick Vanderberg, each of us got 4 hours of drive. I helped a bit to manage the schedule for the drivers, because we all live in different places. I live in the States, Athena lives in Canada, and Patrick lives in the Netherlands. I wanted to make sure that everyone was ready for their stints right in time and they knew when they could take some rest. It wasn’t much, but I’m glad our first endurance together went very well.
Athena did the Qualifying and the first 2 hours drive. We started from P34, there were a lot of fast drivers on this grid. We were quite behind, but for me it’s totally fine. It’s a 12 hour race, anything can happen. The main goal was to survive the race and cross the finish line.

The first 1 hour of the race was tough, it was dark and it was always busy at the track. Big crash happened on the second lap, luckily we were able to avoid it. Athena did really great on her stints. She got the pace and she was quick. We were in the top 10.

I must admit that I struggled at my first 2 stints, the car felt heavy and in my opinion Audi wasn’t the strongest car for this track. It was tricky to control this car going up the mountain. Glad I didn’t send this car to the wall, but I wasn’t happy with my pace here.

I did better at my next 2 hours stint, we were at P9 and there was a big chance for us to get P8 or even higher. Unfortunately iRacing was bugging (I think), so I had to finish the optional repair before I could fill up the fuel and change tires. We spent around 5 minutes or even more at the pit and we lost a position. I kept my head up, and kept up the good vibes for my team and also for people who watched my stream. We still had 5 hours to go, there was still hope for us to gain position. Remember the most important thing is to finish the race.

Patrick also did really great on his 4 hours drive. He got the pace and confidence, he could hold up the position we got at the moment on to the final lap. We finished at P11, we gained 23 positions in total. That was a great result! And this was the first time we teamed up in an endurance event. We did a really great job. I am so proud of my teammates and I’m still feeling happy until today that I can give a better result for the United Sim Team.

IMSA Endurance at Nurburgring GP

After finishing my race in Bathurst, I went straight to IMSA Endurance. I didn’t get any sleep and I didn’t practice enough for this race. Still, I’m gonna do my best in this race.

I was racing with Kirk Dychiao (twitch.tv/lem0nteaGG) in this race. This was the second time I teamed up with him, I had a blast having him on my team last time in Daytona.

Unfortunately, I failed to score a lap time in qualifying. We started from P34. The first hour of driving went pretty well for me, we gained some positions. Kirk also did very great during his stint, we were at P12 at the moment when he told me to check on the leaderboard. And we kept on gaining position until I took over the car.
Driving at this track is quite enjoyable, sadly I didn’t do enough practice for this race because I put all my focus for Bathurst 12. Glad that me and Kirk are always chill about it, we didn’t put any pressure on each other, basically we’re here for fun. We finished at P7 at the end of the race, which was a really great and unexpected result! It’s always fun to have him on the race, looking forward to doing another race together!

This week I’ll be doing the IMSA series and GT3 fixed. This week’s schedule is super exciting for me! We’ll be racing in Road America and Sonoma Raceway. Both are my favorite track, I just had a good race in Sonoma today. Come join my stream from Thursday – Saturday at 8PM CST and join the fun!

Thank you so much for spending time reading my blog, I really appreciate it. There are more great things to come, I can’t wait to share it with you!
