Women In Sim Racing Eliza Indriani Blog #38

We catch up with Eliza Indriani and her women in sim racing blogs. It has been a very busy week for Eliza, lets catch up!

Eliza Indriani keeps us posted with her weekly women in sim racing blogs, over the past week she has been super busy. Enjoy this week’s blog, as plenty is available and support her via the details provided below.

Hello and welcome to my 38th blog! How’s your week so far? Hope you are all doing well, It’s started to get snowy here in Chicago. Cold days are coming, which means I will stay at home a lot and hopefully I will do lots of sim racing and streaming! I’m not a fan of cold weather, so of course I will stay home and do sim racing 🙂

I’ve been very busy since last Saturday with work, content creations, talk show, and races. Luckily I have Adam Hedgecock helping me out with race pictures. It was such a big help for me because at this point I couldn’t do everything by myself.

I also have a video editor now, he’s new to gaming content but he is slowly catching up and that’s great! He could keep up with what I want and what I prefer. Can’t believe I’m at the point where I’m starting to build a community and build a team, it’s the best feeling ever! I wouldn’t make it without you all. Thank you for helping me pursue my dream here in sim racing. Anyway, that’s all for a quick life update on this blog 🙂  Let’s continue with some race reports, shall we?

VCO 10H of Suzuka

On Saturday morning I had a 10H race at Suzuka, this is the last iRacing special event and I was excited to do a 10 hour race on iRacing. I was driving with Yvonne Houffelaar, my fellow blogger and sim racer representing Team Simrace247.

I woke up at 4 that day, got some coffee and prepared the setup for streaming and sim racing. Although I didn’t have enough practice for this race, I felt quite confident and I tried to take it easy and put lots of positive thoughts in my mind. It was a long race, take it easy and just enjoy the ride.

Yvonne did the qualifying and the first 2 hours of the race so I can have coffee and be 100% ready for a long drive. We qualified at P6. She drove really well on her first 2 hours stint; no collisions, clean races, she got her pace, the first 2 hours of the race went so smoothly.

Then it was my time to hop on the car and drive. Everything felt pretty awkward at first; maybe I was a bit nervous. We were at P2 when Yvonne gave the car. I felt that I have a huge responsibility to keep this position. But my stint went really well, I had the consistency, I didn’t send our car to the wall or to the grass, I spun once or twice but I saved it. I gave the car back to Yvonne after a 2 hours stint in nice condition and P2.

It all went well when Yvonne was doing another 2 hours stint. We were even in pole position. We could win this race. We saw a big chance of winning here, but still. We still need to do our best and we can’t afford any mistakes.

Then after that Yvonne gave the car back to me. When I was about to leave the pit I got a penalty for speeding in pit lane. I guess I turned off the limiter a bit too early. That was sad, I needed to serve the penalty (which was S&G 40 seconds) right at this lap and tried to push after. That was really unfortunate, but we still managed to be in P3. We might still have a chance to be in P2 at least, just don’t do something stupid until we crossed the finish line.

An unfortunate event happened on lap 294, my screen froze for about 3 seconds. I didn’t know exactly what happened, I was lagging since the race started, but it was just a blink before. This time it lasted longer than 2 seconds, I couldn’t do anything to my car, I didn’t know what happened at the moment. I was so stressed out at that moment. Really stressed out. When my screens were back to normal, I ended up next to the wall. I spun and hit the wall, we got 40 minutes of repair.

I decided to do a few more laps, to see how the car feels and how my connection was. It went even worse. I was lagging so badly, unfortunately I had to hand over the car to Yvonne and let her drive and finish the race. I still wanted to drive, I really enjoyed this endurance race, but it wasn’t a good idea to let me drive and had another lag that caused us more damage. I was thinking the race is over for us.

I felt so guilty, and I was upset. It was really great from the beginning. Me and Yvonne did our best and then this technical problem happened. Yvonne didn’t do the full repair, she just did a few minutes of repair, refuel, and change tires. I bet it was a tough drive for her. It was hard to control the car, we lost so much speed, we couldn’t really push. Yvonne had to run some strategy to cross the finish line.

At the end of the race we finished at P4. What a roller coaster ride. I was happy because we could be in P4, didn’t expect that. Honestly, I’m still adapting to iRacing, I’m not a strong driver yet. I’m still learning how to get better here.  Despite all the bad luck that happened in our race, it was a great race after all! And I finally got a chance to team up with Yvonne, it was such a great experience. Looking forward to doing another endurance race with her!

3H of Imola

Around 3 hours after my VCO 10H of Suzuka race, I had to do another 3H race with my friend A. Devanugraha. We were racing in Imola on ACC. I was so tired at that time, so Audie did the qualifying and the first stint.

It was an okay race in my opinion, there was some chaos at the first lap and there were some aggressive drivers on the field, but we didn’t get into any much trouble.

I struggled driving this car at first, I can’t really switch between ACC and iRacing. It felt awkward to drive on ACC with a full tank. I felt I was slower on ACC as well.
Back again, when I was driving I experienced some lagging, especially when there were several cars around me. I didn’t want to send this car to the wall one more time. So I just did 1 stint (48 minutes drive) and let Audie finish the race.

We finished at P18. It’s a shame that I couldn’t perform at my best because I was tired and that lagging was annoying. I couldn’t battle or defend because I didn’t want to cause any trouble to other drivers. It wasn’t wise to do battles and stuff while lagging. We will definitely do more endurance in the future; I’ll take more stints in our next race.

Unipin SEACA 2022 Talk Show

On Tuesday early in the morning I had a talk show with Unipin Indonesia for Unipin Southeast Asia Cyber Arena (SEACA) 2022. SEACA is an all-in-one esports platform, from esports news to a World-class tournament in Southeast Asia.

The talk show started at 03:30 AM in Chicago. I didn’t sleep before the event, and had a practice session for my upcoming race with Next Level Racing.
I wasn’t the only speaker in this talk show, there were 2 other speakers; Muslih Wahyudi Rachman (Coach for Free Fire National Team) and Brando Oloan (Talon Dota 2 Team Manager). I was so happy to be representing sim racing in this talk show. I’m happy to see more people getting into sim racing and starting to show interest in the sim racing industry.

We were sharing about our journey in the esports industry, it’s nice to hear their stories, people have their own ups and downs in their career, and I believe I could also learn something from them.

It was a nice talk show, it was an honour for me to share my journey and experience in the esports industry to my friends in Indonesia. I’m so proud to represent sim racing to a wider audience.

Next Level Racing November Race

On the same day (evening time) I had a race in the Next Level Racing November race. We were driving the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo in Road America. It’s a beautiful track, I really love it. I was racing against other streamers, it was such a fun experience! There were around 50 cars on the track, I expected so much chaos in the race!

My plan was just to survive this 2 x 15 mins race. Didn’t expect a podium or so. Both races were intense, with 50 cars on the track, this 15 mins race was full of yellow flags. At that point I just laughed at everything, I took it easy, didn’t get mad at anyone and just enjoyed the fun. We don’t have many races like this, right? So it’s okay to just have fun driving around and say hi to others.

It was a fun event, Next Level Racing never failed to host a wonderful event. It’s nice to meet other streamers as well. I finally got a chance to share a track with my good friend lovefortysix! Although the race was intense, I really enjoyed it. Really looking forward to doing another NLR community race.

InitEsports Guest Streamer

This is the second time I become the guest streamer on initesports Twitch channel. I did some practice and races in the GT4 series. We’re racing in Road America this week. I didn’t have a great race last night at the NLR Movember Race, so I wanted to do my best today.

I’m driving the Aston Martin. That’s the only GT4 car that I got, would love to try another car but I don’t know which one I should get. Aston feels nice, I struggled a bit at first but once I added more strength to the wheel it felt so much better.

I got P2 in Qualifying, I was surprised, Didn’t expect to be on the podium in Qualifying. I’m not the fastest driver on the grid most of the time, starting in front kinda made me nervous. I didn’t mess up my start when the light turned green, so that’s good. I kept my line going into the first turn and then a car on the right side of me touched the grass and spun, he literally hit me and we both crashed. I lost my position, it was unfortunate but I didn’t feel upset about it. I kept myself calm and tried to get my position back if possible.

There were a lot of freebies and good battles along the way. I am 100% sure that this track is my most favorite track at the moment. There is still a lot to improve, I’m willing to learn more and get faster at this track!

I finished at P8, I was happy with the result. The incident on the first lap sent me to P17, but I managed to get back to the top 10 in this 30 minutes race. I gained iRating, that’s what matters most for me right now. I want to gain more experience and gain more iRating.

It was a great race, and also it was a great experience for me to be the guest streamer on initesports Twitch. Thank you for the opportunity, and really looking forward to doing another stream with them.

That’s it for this week’s blog, hope you guys enjoy reading this. I will race in round 2 of More Female Racers S5, wish me luck. I need more luck to race in this championship, not gonna lie. We’ll be racing in Imola, it’s gonna be tough with 38 cars on the track. Hope I will survive the first lap.

I’ll be back on streaming Monday at 12:30 PM CT, follow my twitch to stay updated with my stream schedule.
