Women in sim racing continues with our resident female sim racing blogger Yvonne Houffelaar. This week in blog #78 we catch up with her sim racing events, and how she and Eliza will be racing the Suzuka 10 Hour endurance race in iRacing for Team Simrace247.

More Female Racers
On Monday 31-10-2022, was the first round of the 5th season from The Sim Grid More Female Racers powered by Mercedes-AMG. All the drivers this season need to drive in the Mercedes-AMG GT4. The format also changed, this season it’s not with a co-driver anymore, and is it individual. Qualifying 10 minutes each class, and then a 30 minute race.

For the second race, the starting grid is the result from the first race. I qualified P20, because I couldn’t get a good lap in. After a mess on the start, I gained some positions. Unfortunately, in turn 2 I hit someone, which wasn’t my intention, but it gave me a 15 seconds penalty.

After a few fights and trying to hold my pace and drive my own race. I finished P14, P9 in class. For the second race, I started P14, another mess with the start. I’ve got damage from it, but it could be a lot worse. I was trying to keep up with the cars in front, but I couldn’t keep up. I finished P8 in the race, and P4 in class. Currently I’m standing P5 in the championship.

DTM Tribute
On Tuesday 01-11-2022, was the first round of the DTM Tribute 2022, on Gran Turismo 7. 1 hour race at Barcelona. I drove a very special livery, made by Alex Rio from my community! I love racing, but I also love Alpine Skiing also! There is a new skiing brand Van Deer, from old skiër Marcel Hirscher!

There is a partnership with Audi and had a demo model at The Red Bull Ring, with a stunning livery!! This livery is made for me on GT7, and I’m racing this beauty in the series! I qualified on P10, which wasn’t too bad because it’s a very strong field! I knew it was going to be a very difficult race, but I was going to give it all!

There is a mandatory pitstop, in the pit window from 10 minutes to 40 minutes into the race. After some fights and a good pace, I decided to pit late into the pit window. I finished P6 in the race!!

On Saturday 12-11-2022, is a special event on iRacing, 10 hours at Suzuka! Eliza Indriani and I are going to drive for Team Simrace247.com!! It will be the first time that we are going to drive together, and also for Team Simrace247.com! We are driving in the BMW M4 GT3, with a special livery. I’m looking forward to the race, and I hope we can go for a good result!!
