Hello everyone and welcome to my 35th blog in simrace247! It’s been a while since the last time I wrote a weekly blog! I went on vacation last month; I visited Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego. I had so much fun, and I received so much love from my family and also my friends.

Sometimes it’s good to take a break from our daily routine, to recharge our energy and mentality. I feel fresher right now than I was before, and that really affects how I learn something in sim racing. I’m glad I took a days-off for vacation. Thank you to all of you who put me in this position, where I can take a break to recharge my mental and my energy. I’m ready to get back on sim racing and streaming. I missed you all so much! I will stream this week from Friday to Sunday! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitch www.twitch.tv/elzindriani so you won’t miss any of my streams.

Since I’ve been off for almost a month from sim racing, getting back on track is really exciting. But it scares me a bit, I have anxiety towards my races because I haven’t done any races for a while, I need to put extra efforts to keep myself on track. I raced in 2 big events this week, it was a roller coaster for sure, full of ups and downs. I took everything as a lesson, I will definitely do better next time with more experience.

I’m so excited to share about my races to all of you. And shoutout to Adam Hedgecock for these amazing pictures of my races. You can check out his work at mrhedge.co.uk.

More Female Racers S5 Round 1 – Nurburgring

I was nervous in the first round of MFR. First big race after a break, I didn’t have full confidence to be honest. But I tried to do my best during the pre-Qualifying, especially on race day.

I was surprised that I could go so much faster during the Qualifying, I qualified at P3 in class, I was so proud of myself that day. I could push myself to the limit, I was suddenly feeling confident with myself. I had a pretty good pace and racecraft, this 2x30mins race is going to be great!
Plot twist: it wasn’t great.

Yup, it wasn’t great. I was involved in an incident in turn 1 at the first lap. Me and 2 others were going 3 wide into turn 1, there was an incident at the front, so I had to be very cautious and keep myself and everyone around me safe. I tried my best to hold my line and avoid any contact with others, but I can’t avoid the big crash. That put me in P30, and my car got an aero damage.

I realized that I needed to keep myself calm, I had to manage my expectations at this race. I knew from that moment where I was involved in a big crash, I lost my chance to get my podium at this race. Just do my best and try to gain a position as much as I can. I had a really nice battle with C. Robertson, that was one of the most memorable moments for me in Race 1. I Finished at P7 in class, tough luck. I tried my best and P7 is the best I can get.

In the second race, we started from the position we got at the end of race 1. I started at P7 in class, unfortunately I got a bit of food poisoning before the race, I ate dim sum and didn’t feel good right after (I think I’m allergic to shrimp).

It was hard to concentrate and put all my focus on the race during that time. Incident into turn 1 again, but I had it better this time, didn’t involve that much in an incident, got some damages and this time my car was really slow at the straight.

Although I was sick and got damages on my car, I had a really nice battle with A. Riot and my good friend L. Valenza. We were racing together for almost 15 minutes straight; it was full of fun and challenging. At the end of the race, I finished at P9.

It wasn’t the result that I wanted, I had my pace, I was really confident with my setup, but luck wasn’t on my side. It’s okay, we can always try again next time. And I know that I made improvements! I could learn the track faster, I was faster than before, and also I could make my own setup! It’s not a very detailed car setup, I’m still trying to figure out all the car setup menu on ACC but I started to understand what I need to change and what suits my driving style.

I’m currently on P7 in standings. I will try to do my best in the next round, hopefully luck will come my way in the next round!

The Elite Showdown – Team Fordzilla vs. Next Level Racing

On Wednesday I got invited to join the NLR community race. We were racing against Team Fordzilla and we were driving the Supercars Ford Mustangs. Honestly, I don’t have much experience of driving this car, only had 1 race before and it was the Bathurst 1000. My first impression of this car: this car is so hard to control. It’s hard to turn in without locking my tires.

I was nervous, I felt that I was the only one who couldn’t drive this car. That’s why I practiced a lot before the race started. I finally can drive this car with confidence after spending 3 or 4 days trying to figure out the behavior of this car.

On the race day, I just know that they are using a different setup. I was using the baseline setup from iRacing setup and we were using another setup that I just got from joining the practice session. Setup felt different, it was almost like I’m driving this car for the first time.

During the qualifying I didn’t get a chance to score my best lap time due to some traffic along the way or I spun my car or went off track so most of my laps were invalidated. But I saw that some people had the same struggle to control this car, so it wasn’t just me. It almost felt like we were on the same boat.

My plan was to try to drive safely and finish the race. I didn’t want to cause any contact with others. I did finish the 2×12 mins race after all, I wasn’t happy with the result, tho. I knew I could’ve done better, I realized that I still need to spend more time driving this car

It was a stressful yet fun experience to race in this community race. There is still a lot to learn for me, but I know that I’m getting better from my last race at Bathurst. It takes time to be good at driving Supercars. I will definitely spend more time getting better. And it was also a great experience for me to meet some pro drivers at the track. I hope I’ll be as pro as them one day!

Those 2 races were great after all! It was nice to get back on track and race in a competitive field. It motivates me to train more and more so I can do better than I was before.

I will back with lots of race reports, some news, and many more. See you all next week on my 36th weekly blog!
