#2theMax
On Monday 17-10-2022, was the KNAF Digital #2theMax race. 33 laps at Suzuka. KNAF is the racing organizer for a racing license etc in the Netherlands, they also organize digital races. This was a special one, at Suzuka, because Max Verstappen won his second world championship! It was supposed to be the same conditions as in the real race (only not the waiting part), only wet and inters were allowed. This was very difficult, because sometimes the track was dry. I couldn’t practice, because my health was bad, but I still wanted to race in a very special Michael Schumacher livery! I qualified P12, which was not good, but the race is more than an hour, and still some places to gain hopefully.

I was starting at the full wets, which was not a good choice, it was an almost dry track. I pitted for inters, and stayed as long as I could on them. Till we saw on the radar coming very heavy rain, and I decided to pit for wet tires. This was a good choice, and I gained some time. I decided to stay on the wets till the end, because a pitstop costs too much time. I gained some time, but I came too short in the end to gain more places. I finished P11.

Mighty Mini’s
On Wednesday 19-10-2022, it was time for round 3 of the CC Sim Racing Mighty Mini’s, 2x 10 minutes races at Red Bull Ring Short. I didn’t have the pace, for some reason I’m too slow in the Mini’s, I can’t get the hand of that car. I qualified on P9 the first race, in which I hoped to gain some places. Unfortunately, there was a lot of bumping and I got bumped a couple of times, and I finished P12. The second race was starting with a reversed grid, and I hoped the driving standards were a little bit better. I started P3 in the second race, with a few good fights, and bumps again. I came too short on pace unfortunately, I tried to hold the podium, which I couldn’t. I finished P5. Currently, I’m standing P8 in the championship.

Race Asylum GT4 Team Tourer
On Sunday 23-10-2022, was round 3 of the Race Asylum GT4 Team Tourer. 50 minutes, at a wet Red Bull Ring. This week was a lot about wet races, and this race was also wet, tire choices would be very difficult, especially in Gran Turismo 7 (GT7). I qualified P2, much better than I expected! I’ve got the lead, but unfortunately in turn 3 braked a little bit too late, to make a save rejoin I needed to let the field by. Cost a lot of time and places, I was last, and needed to come up with a different strategy. I came in for the soft tires, the track was drying up, and if you stayed on the dry line it was fine. A lot of drivers spinned out, and that gave me some places back.

When it started to rain harder, I needed to pit again, so I chose the wet tire. Unfortunately, it was the wrong choice and I could better go for inters. The track dried a little bit up, but I chose to stay on the wet tires, otherwise I was losing too much time, and I couldn’t make up for it in the time that was left. In the end it was better to stay the whole race on the Intermediate tires, and not pitting at all. I finished P5. I’m currently P3 in the Pro Championship!
