Williams Esports gears up for its next race in the IMSA series. Next up for round 2, its Laguna Seca on October 23rd.
The next upcoming for Williams Esports is heading your way on October 23rd with round 2 of the IMSA series visiting Laguna Seca.
Williams has two entries in the second round of the IMSA Esports Michelin Global Championship, the Williams Esports Razer car of Daniel Lafuente and Carl Jansson, and the Mercedes-AMG Team Williams Esports car of Louis Nahser and Daniel Pasztor. The Williams Esports Razer car achieved a podium in the GTD category at Road Atlanta, executing an excellent recovery drive having qualified in P10.
The Mercedes-AMG Team Williams Esports car will look to bounce back this week after finishing P11 last time out. The car qualified on the front row at Road Atlanta, so they are still feeling confident going into this weekend. Williams is confident that the team will have a solid performance at the technical Laguna Seca track.
DANIEL LAFUENTE: “I think last time out was a great success. Despite messing up in qualifying with P10, we managed to get a podium in the race which is really good for the championship. Of course we want to try and win the championship. But I’m not thinking about that yet, my objective is being in the top five and fighting for the podium in each round and we will see how the championship ends up.”
CARL JANSSON: “Round 1 went really well. We optimised strategy and had a really good first stint where we climbed from P10 to P4. Laguna Seca is a very technical track with very small room for mistakes and very small run-off areas. Traffic will also be extremely difficult to manage round here, but we have put in the practice to ensure we are at the top of our game. I think me and Dani just understand each other now, we know what each other needs. We also seem to be very close on what we like the car to be like so that also helps a lot when you drive together. I hope to keep the momentum we have from Road Atlanta, we just need to stay clear of incidents to get another good result.”
LOUIS NAHSER: “It is my first time driving the track in a GT3 so I’m looking forward to learning how the car feels on the circuit. Daniel and I know each very well, so we’re ready for any situation and we know how we can handle each other. He’s exceptional when qualifying and one of the best guys out there. Since we lost quite a lot of points in Round 1, we need good points here to get back to a strong overall finish in the end.”
DANIEL PASZTOR: “After qualifying in P2 at Road Atlanta, Louis got into contact with another car which gave us some damage and left us further down the order. However, we managed to recover well and we picked up some important points. I enjoy racing with Louis because he works hard and we get along together, and I always know that he will perform under any circumstances. We’ve been pushing each other forward for the past two years and it’s been working really well for us. It’s really hard to predict anything for the next rounds, but we are hoping to finish on the podium consistently from now on.”
