Williams Esports SRO Sprint Round 5 Monza

Williams Esports SRO Sprint Round 5 Monza

Round 5 of the SRO Sprint will take place at Monza today. Williams Esports are ready to race and hit the track.

Williams Esports has three drivers taking part in the SRO Sprint R5 at Monza on Wednesday night, Championship leader Dáire McCormack in the Munster Rugby Gaming Bentley, Nikodem Wisniewski in the Mercedes-AMG Williams Esports and Tinko van der Velde in the Williams Esports Bentley.

Testing and preparation is going well, with the drivers working hard to find the perfect set up ahead of a vital race, with all drivers battling for positions in the league table. Dáire had a tough time last time out but is looking for his third win of the season at Monza to claim the title, whilst Tinko is in a closely fought battle for P5 in the
championship.

Niko also will have the chance to make up places in the final round of the SRO sprint series. The team also recently attended the Spa 24hrs event where Dáire and Kuba Brzeziński were helping the Mercedes-AMG team in the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series. Williams Esports also took part in the SRO Esports LAN Race that happened on Saturday July 30th with all three of our Sprint drivers representing the team as well as Igor from the Americas team and Kuba from the Endurance team

Quotes from the drivers

DÁIRE MCCORMACK –“Training has gone really well so far and I’m really happy with the car. The weather isn’t ideal for us but we will try to make the most of what we are given. Monza is known for its long straights and I think we’ve got a chance to make some great overtakes on the track. I am excited for the race because with the rain there’s the chance for many mistakes, so I may have the chance to do something and make up places”.

NIKODEM WISNIEWSKI – ” I have to push now as hard as I can within the next two days to make sure I’m ready to go. I’m looking forward to the race anyway because it will be a wet one, so I think my chances are higher. AMG should be strong at Monza and I like wet conditions, so let’s push for a good result. Endurance racing for me is much better, because you can work on the strategy more and your driving is really important in a long term. You need to be smart, consistent, not need to be fastest to win the race”.

TINKO van der VELDE – “Training is tricky for this one as I’m at Spa the weekend prior competing for another SRO event. With high chances of rain it will be extra tricky, but I’m fighting for P5 in the championship so the last round will be very important. It’s been great to attend so many events recently with the team and now is the time for me to show my ability in the race.
