Lionheart Speedway Series in iRacing continues as round 9 visits Nashville. Here we have the race report for this great series.

The Lionheart Speedway Series recently visited Nashville in iRacing, round 9 of the series geared up for high speed and fast pace action, the GRAAFix Esports Nashville 175 was all set and ready.

Here we go, 37 cars lined up behind the safety car, its go time, green flag for 131 laps. A clean opening start, Team Simrace 247 driver Nunez punches up to second, Wagner leads, and Fowler up to third. Wood and Hawkins get up close and personnel at T1 on lap 4. The pace is frantic in the opening stages of the race, 10 laps have clicked by, Fowler is up to second, and Rigney is up to 5th. Hassert slams into Beard, we stay green.

Andrew Wood loses control and travels across the grass on the inner track, was the aero draft the cause of effect? The pace continues at high speed, no rest, no let up, its 101% all the way, Lionheart at its finest.

Wagner remains out front, the ever charging Fowler is keeping him honest, with Nunez 1 second behind in third. Fowler is on the chase, Wagner is struggling to hold a decent line. we remain under green flag racing for the meantime with great battles going on through the pack. Fowler is not going for the move up front, he may be keeping his cool and settling into the groove and pace. Nunez is making up some ground to the front pair with Taylor 1 second behind. Crow slams the pit wall hard in T1 on lap 36, we remain green, further down the pack drivers are jinking for position and testing the metal of their competitors.

Yellow Flag

The yellow comes out on lap 44, Forsythe, Goodman, Wood and Malone are involved. A massive majority of the drivers enter pit road, we were nearing the window for the scheduled pit stops. With the incident, Goodman rides up the track in T3, and tags Forsythe and Malone and Wood have nowhere to go. Lap 49 gets us under green flag racing once again.

As we get back up to speed, the pit stops have shuffled up a few positions, YELLOW FLAG lap 53, its carnage on the track. When you are at high speed, you get high speed crashes. Jenkins and Branch are dueling for position a little bit too closely, what follows is them making contact and spinning out across the track with drivers piling into them. lap 58 gets the racing back underway with the green flag waving. The high speed train is back in effect, who is going to make some moves, who has the calm nerves?

Taylor in third is applying pressure to Fowler in second, Taylor takes the inside, Fowler holds his ground and position up high. Taylor goes for the high line, great racing. Taylor gets the move done, Fowler tucks in behind.

We are well past the halfway mark, this has been an interesting race, Wagner holds station in the lead. Moll was having a great run thus far but rubs the wall and hampers his progression. he must have some damage as he scrubs the wall again.  Nunez is starting to reel in Fowler, the pressure for the last step is on.

Yellow Flag

The yellow is out for the second time on lap 93. Gibson drops down the track just enough to spin him around, Reiman tags into him. This opens the opportunity for many of the drivers to come down pit road. lap 98 get the racing back underway, Jenkins stayed out and leads as Wagner hunts him down and goes for the lead, here comes Taylor. Anzaldo (lapped driver) is ahead of them, Fowler and Nunez are charging, Wagner spins, game over! Green flag remains. Sanders is looking fast in P4 and just behind Nunez. Sanders goes for the move.

Sanders gets the move done and is up to P3, Taylor is starting to pull away out front. This is now a charge to the finish, sanders is closing on Fowler, its on! Hassert is a lapped car on fresher tires and is faster than the duo battling for P2, he is gaining, will he play a role in the outcome of this battle?  1O to go, Nunez is holding P4 and gaining on Sanders and Fowler, are we in for a box office finish. Fowler clips the apron, Sanders makes his move, P2. Taylor has a great lead, he just needs to bring it home and keep it clean.

Matt Taylor has taken victory in style, he has been in the mix all race. Speaking in HyperX victory lane “That was fun, but really hard work, I needed to find something different to make it work for me” said race winner Taylor.
