Lionheart Retro Series iRacing Nashville 150 Report

The 2022 Lionheart Retro Series in iRacing continues as round 7 visits Nashville for a high speed and intense race.

The Lionheart Retro Series recently visited Nashville in iRacing, as round 7 of the series tested many drivers to the limits, the Xtreme Scoring Nashville 150 Presented by MOZA Racing was all set and ready for action.

Once again another great sized grid, 31 cars are ready to race for 113 laps and the glory in the Xtreme Scoring Nashville 150 Presented by MOZA Racing. The pace car is out for the formation lap, revs are up and away we go. The opening laps presented clean racing with no incidents as Cohn takes the lead, Wardlow responds and takes it back, Graaf moves up to second and Taylor shifts up to fourth. Graaf pushes up to the lead as 3 wide action is happening further back in the pack.

Lanini has got some great momentum going and pushes up to 2nd, Wardlow responds, it’s all action through the pack. The yellow flag comes out on lap 14, Munoz tags the car of Hotham sending him into the wall. Lap 19 and we are back to green flag racing. 6 drivers out front covered by half a second have broken away from the pack, Graaf still leads.

Malone in 7th is charging hard and closing the gap on the leading group as they dice for position, Gibson takes the lead, Graaf responds. Cohn and Lanini have got great momentum as they move up the table. Malone has joined the back of the group and gets a perfect draft and moves up to 5th. As the laps click by really fast, lap 37 shows groups of drivers having their own individual battles. Lap 45 brings out the yellow flag as Godsoe spins out after riding up the track and making contact with Acord, meanwhile, a large group of drivers come down pit road. Lap 50 gets us back to green flag racing once again, the yellow is out again. Ragan has a big crash as he gets tagged by Acord.  Lap 55 resumes racing after those incidents, Wardlow leads with Lionheart Founder Anzaldo in second.

We are over halfway distance and the strategies the drivers are using is a mixed bag, not only that, the battles on track are close and daring. The top 7 are working as a unit, the draft is working well for them as they break away from the chasing pack. Wardlow boxes in on lap 70, who else will be coming in, Sirois boxes on lap 71. Taylor takes the lead as the former leading group has its pit road visits.

Taylor leads, with the ever charging Fowler hot on the tail, its going to get spicy with the top 10. O’Brien is pushing hard as he moves up a few places, the yellow is back out with 25 to go, Valenzuela gets tagged by Frazier and Herrick has nowhere to go. The racing gets underway again with 20 laps to go, Taylor still leads, O’Brien is on a hard charge again as is up to P4, yellow flag. Guyon and Godsoe tag each other with Acord getting collected in the incident. 14 to go, green flag, Hardin moves up to second, 11 to go yellow flag, Calisto and Forsythe are involved as both slam into the wall hard. 6 laps to go as Taylor leads, here comes the hard charge, Fowler is putting pressure on Hardin, Graaf is there too, three wide for the front runners. A huge crash with 4 to go as Fowler has huge momentum and gets tagged by Hardin, his car spins around multiple times and flys through the air.

Victory In The Xtreme Scoring Nashville 150

The race finishes under the yellow flag as Matt Taylor has won the Xtreme Scoring Nashville 150. Speaking in HyperX victory lane ” That was crazy, but I nailed the strategy tonight” said race winner Taylor.
