Hello hello everyone! How’s it going? Welcome to my 18th blog on simrace247 ! It’s been almost 5 months since I’m writing a weekly blog. Wow! I can’t believe it! Time flies, isn’t it? I still remember the first time I wrote a blogpost, I didn’t know what to write, I wasn’t confident with my blog. As time goes by, everything just flows. I just write how I feel about my races, what I’ve been doing, etc.
So this week, I’ve been busy with some practice and races, I practiced a lot in iRacing and everyday it gets better and better. Also, my latest gloves project is in progress. Right now we are making our first prototype and I will be able to try it in about a few weeks. Excited! I can’t wait to show you my first product, and I would love to talk more about it when it’s done.
On Thursday I was doing the Skip Barber Race Series in iRacing. This is one of my favorite series in iRacing. It gives me a whole new experience of sim racing. As you guys know, I always drive the GT3 car. Driving an open wheel car is so fun and challenging.
We were racing at Zandvoort. It’s a fun track to drive with this car, better than last week’s track. I struggled so much to race at Winton Motor Raceway.
My best lap time here is around 1:55 mid, which is kinda good. Some aliens can do 1:53 or 1:52 but on average people scored 1:55 or more. I’m pretty confident with my pace and I’m 100% sure that I’m getting better and better in iRacing so I decided to push myself harder to get a fast track promotion. I’m planning to get A license before season 2 ends.
I had the most memorable race here in iRacing. That 1 race, I finished at P5 out of 14 drivers, and I was the only driver with D license who made it to top 5. It was a great achievement for me in iRacing.
Right now I’m in C license, I’m currently racing in the IMSA series. I gotta say goodbye for a while from the Skip Barber Race Series, will come back later!
GT Meister pre-season race
On Friday night I was racing in the GTMR Pre-Season race. In this race we can choose which car that we want to run in the GTMR GT3 Championship. I chose the Mc Laren (as usual). I didn’t have much practice for this race and it’s been a while since the last time I drove in Silverstone. I felt like I knew nothing about this track!
I was consistent but the front tires were too hot that’s why I was 2 seconds slower. It was hard to drive with wrong tire pressure. I can’t be too aggressive yet I had to push so the car behind wouldn’t catch me. The struggle was real. I had a great time chasing and defending, definitely looking forward to race with these guys next week!
Pro League Racing World Tour Split 3 R2 – Spa
This is the 2nd round of PLR World Tour Season 3 and this time we were racing at Spa Francorchamps. I couldn’t join the first round because I was too tired from my first 24 hour race. I was confident with my pace and my car setup, I prepared a good setup to run this 90 minutes race. I must say all the drivers at this split were fast and strong. I scored a pretty good lap time during the qualifying, my best lap time was around 02:21-ish. That put me in P15. It was somewhere in the middle of the pack.
Starting in the middle meant I had to prepare a strategy, to avoid any incidents and try to not get punted by other drivers. There were 30 drivers on the grid so it can be hell on earth. Lap 1 turned out so well for me, we had the most clean T1 (I heard our split was the cleanest, even better than split 1). My lap time was consistent, I could catch and defend, it was a great race. Racing at Spa in McLaren is my specialty in ACC. Haha
In the last 5 minutes of the race, we had light rain and it got bigger as time went by. We couldn’t pit to change tires because it wasn’t possible. So we all had to drive very carefully. Driving in a greasy to damp track with cold dry tires is such a hell on earth. I didn’t even think about chasing the car in front, I just want to defend my current position and finish the race.
I finished at P14, I’m so proud of myself that day because I could survive this competitive race with some rain at the last 5 minutes. Looking forward to the upcoming round, we’ll be racing at Oulton Park. Not my favorite track, I’m not the fastest there so I have to practice more and hopefully I will survive the race.
So see you all next week on my 19th blog, thank you so much for spending time reading my blog. I appreciate you all. I have 2 upcoming races at Spa. Seriously, I had so many races at Spa this month, I will take a break from this track after. Here’s my stream schedule, don’t miss it! See you all in my stream, don’t be shy to say Hi on chat. Would love to talk with you.
