Teams We Can’t Wait To Manage in F1 Manager 2022

Many F1 fans cannot wait for the new F1 Manager 2022 game, get ready to take control of your favourite teams.

The release of F1 Manager 2022 is right around the corner, and excitement couldn’t be higher for the crown jewel of Motor Racing’s first-ever management sim. The sport itself has never been a better place after the thrilling climax to last season’s championship battle, with ESPN reporting that a record 2.6m Americans tuned in to witness Max Verstappen defeat Charles Leclerc at the recent Miami Grand Prix.

The result means that the Dutchman has cut the Ferrari driver’s lead at the top of the Driver’s standings, leaving things finely poised as the European season begins. And if the pair continue in the same vein, we could be on for another exhilarating campaign. With that being said, let’s take a look at three teams we can’t wait to manage in the upcoming game.

Red Bull Racing

Last season’s championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is the stuff of legend. It was F1’s greatest term for many a year and one that we didn’t think we’d ever see again. But Charles Leclerc is doing his very best to replicate last year’s exploits, leading the title race and pushing the reigning champion to his absolute limit. That’s exactly why we can’t wait to manage Red Bull, to try and retain the championship that Verstappen won so impressively — and controversially — back in Abu Dhabi. You will have a job on your hands replacing the outgoing Christian Horner, Team Principal for over 17 years, but with a number of exciting partnerships with brands such as PokerStars and Tezos, as well as working alongside genius designer Adrian Newey, the sky really is the limit.

Ferrari

During the winter close season Mattia Binotto and his team in Maranello built a rocket ship of a car, but replacing the Italian team principal shouldn’t be too much of a difficult job. Some questionable decisions from Binotto and his cohorts in recent years perhaps cost Sebastian Vettel another couple of World Championships. Perhaps the Scuderia’s current head honcho is already lucky to be employed.

The first job for you as an incoming manager will be bridging the straight-line speed gab between yourselves and Red Bull. As we have seen in Saudi Arabia, Emilia-Romagna and now Miami, Charles Leclerc is pushing his car to the absolute limit, and through trickier sections of circuits, he is dominant. But when it comes to raw speed, Verstappen and his Red Bull are head and shoulders clear. Leclerc can’t even get close even with his DRS wide open and that needs to change if you want to give the Tifosi a first driver’s title in 15 years.

Mercedes

If this game was released last year, then the Silver Arrows would be bottom of this list, and overthrowing them by any means necessary would be the order of the day. But Christian Horner and Michael Masi have already done that, with emphasis on “any means necessary.” This term, the fall of Mercedes is one of the unexpected subplots to an already enthralling year. Restoring their dominance is the new target for any incoming manager. Their decline is unparalleled, from a record eight Constructors Championships on the spin to being more than a second per lap off the pace is unheard of.

If you can manage to get the Brackley-based outfit back to the front of the grid, the next job will be making Lewis Hamilton the undisputed GOAT of the sport. He is currently tied with the iconic Michael Schumacher on seven world titles, meaning one more will make Hamilton the undisputed number one in the history of the sport. That’s providing he, and you, can keep his new teammate George Russell in line. The up-and-coming Englishman has speed in abundance, outperforming his more illustrious teammate so far throughout 2022. And you can be certain that he hasn’t come to Formula 1’s most successful team to play second fiddle to the 7-time world champion.
