MRO Better Half iRacing Dash Returns

We do like the variety and generosity sim racing can give to so many people, MRO returns in iRacing with the better half racing.

Featuring the wives and girlfriends of NASCAR drivers, the MRO better half dash in iRacing is back, and all in the name of great racing and charity. Be sure to tune in and support this great event.

For the second straight year, iRacing and Motor Racing Outreach have teamed up with the wives and girlfriends of some of NASCAR’s biggest names to put on the Better Half iRacing Dash at Texas Motor Speedway. This year’s race can be seen on Thursday night at 6PM ET as part of NASCAR Race Hub on FS1, with many drivers racing from within the Fox Sports studio in hopes of claiming a $10,000 prize to be donated to the charity of their choice.

The Better Half Dash has a long and storied history as a real-world event at Charlotte Motor Speedway, most recently running with Bandolero cars each fall. Last year, the event made its return on iRacing, shifting to Legends cars and making the move to Texas, the current home of the NASCAR All-Star Race. Drivers will be split into two 15-lap heats on the quarter-mile Texas Legends oval before taking on a 40-lap main event.

McCall Gaulding scored last year’s victory and will be back for more as part of a 12-driver roster. The full lineup, as well as each driver’s crew chief (either a significant other or trusted teammate) and chosen charity, is as follows:

Charitable contributions are the driving force behind the event, both before the first green flag flies and after the checkered flag drops. Leading up to the event, drivers have been soliciting donations, with the two biggest pre-race totals earning the top two starting spots for the feature. To support, fans may either donate directly to Motor Racing Outreach in their chosen driver’s name, or by entering the first initial and last name in the notes or discount code section when purchasing the official event T-shirt. The feature winner, meanwhile, will earn a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
