
Featuring 24 races in a day, VCO Infinity will be held on May 7th on the iRacing platform where 40 teams will do battle.
VCO infinity is something like no other, we will see 40 teams take to the track on the iRacing sim racing platform and endure 24 races in a day. This will take stamina and endurance to a whole new level.
Munich – The Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) continues to turn new concepts and formats in Esports racing into reality. The latest innovation from the ideas factory is VCO INFINITY. On 7th/8th May 2022 (LIVE on Twitch and YouTube), 40 teams from all around the world will compete in this totally new 24h event on the iRacing simulation platform and join the battle for a total prize money of 5,000 US dollars. This is how VCO INFINITY works: a total of 24 races, each lasting 45 minutes, will be taking placing from 19:00 (CEST) on 7th May. Five totally different cars will be appearing in the races: the Dallara IR18 IndyCar, the Dallara F3, the McLaren MP4-12C GT3, the Hyundai Elantra N TC and the Dallara P217 LMP2. The five circuits will only be announced on 5th May. The result will be 24 unique combinations of vehicle and circuit, each of which will be used by one driver from each of the 40 teams to battle for points and wins. The teams must pay close attention to the individual strengths and preferences of their driving crews when assigning them to the relevant timeslots. The winning team will be announced after 24 hours and 24 races, at the latest, based on the VCO INFINITY overall standings. “24 thrilling race starts, 24 finish-line contests, 24 totally new challenges: VCO INFINITY turns the concept of a 24-hour event in Esports racing upside down,” said Florian Haasper, CEO of the VCO. “This format is an experiment that our entire team has been looking forward to for months. The field is outstanding. The most successful iRacing teams out there will be tackling this unusual challenge. Regardless of when the fans tune in during the VCO INFINITY race weekend, they will always be able to see a thrilling opening phase or an exciting finish. And that’s what makes VCO INFINITY special. We are delighted that the Virtual Racing School will be partnering in a VCO event for the first time. The fixed set-ups for our five cars for all races come from VRS.” Team Redline, the winners of the inaugural Esports Racing World Cup (ERWC) in January 2022, the VRS Coanda Simsport team, as well as R8G Esports and Veloce Esports: many well-known and successful Esports racing teams will be competing at VCO INFINITY, joined by less familiar, emerging teams from the sim community.
