Hello good folks of the sim racing community. I welcome you to my fourteenth SimRace247 blog. I hope that you’re all doing very well, keeping safe & are having a wonderful Easter holiday? I’ve tried my upmost not to feast upon many chocolate eggs, but it hasn’t been easy! Ha Ha! One of my goals for this year is to try to be healthier and lose a bit of weight, so I’ve tried my best to not be tempted by sweet treats. It hasn’t been easy! I can say with absolute certainty.
Most of this past week was spent preparing for the next chapter in my sim racing adventure. For those who missed out on my previous blogs or are reading one of my SimRace247 blogs for the first time, I’ve made the decision to switch platforms regarding my live streaming from Youtube to Twitch. I’ve become increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress I’ve made in the 3 years that I’ve been content creating on Youtube as well as its algorithm system that the platform is infamous for.

Ever since I returned in January 2022, I wanted to give Youtube one more chance to see if by streaming on a regular basis, the channel would continue to grow. But sadly, that hasn’t turned out to be the case. It came to a point where the viewership on my videos was very small, the numbers of subscribers hardly improved and the streams became quieter and quieter. It’s taken a little while to figure out, but one thing I know for certain is that I am not a quitter. Hence the motto that I’ve placed on my Aston livery as a reminder to “Never Give Up!”
Now, it’s time to see whether I’ve made the right decision to move to the Twitch platform, if I want to grow and continue to progress further with my sim racing adventure. I must admit, I am feeling nervous about starting on the platform, and it will be very tough because I’m starting from nothing again more or less! But I’m determined to keep plucking away, to keep trying, and to work hard to be the best streamer/content creator that I can be.
In a lot of ways, doing the 2 test streams on Friday 15th April helped immensely. I can feel at ease that the test runs went without any issues. All the time I’ve spent learning about Twitch and using Streamlabs OBS software for the first time has paid off. However, I couldn’t have been certain if it wasn’t for the help I received from the viewers who tuned into the two streams. Huge thanks to every single of you who was kind enough to help me. I’m very grateful and hugely appreciative.
Whilst I’m in the mood for showing my appreciation, even though I’m not streaming on Youtube anymore, I would like to thank everyone who’s been awesome enough to have subscribed, watched and supported me throughout these past 3 years. I couldn’t have asked for a greater opportunity to meet so many wonderful people who I’ve got to know and love spending time with during my fun streams and races. It really meant a lot to me. I know that Twitch isn’t for everyone, but it’s my goal to create the most genuine and friendliest sim racing channel where everyone of all skill levels and gender can feel welcome. Despite the switch of platforms, I would mean the world to me if we can continue this amazing adventure together.

With all that set, it’s now time to translate those words and put them into action. Let’s see if I can make a success of live streaming on Twitch. Here’s what I have lined up in terms of my schedule for this first week.
Starting on Monday, I will be streaming my testing for an upcoming series in Assetto Corsa Competizione. I’ll be back behind the wheel of my Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT3 and developing a race setup for the Nurburgring which I can demonstrate in detail about how I create a setup & how I prepare for a race. I can showcase how everything is done during stream number 1.
Then on Wednesday, we’ll put all that practise to the test by participating in the very first round of the RDC (Rapid Drivers Club) 2point4 World Tour series. This will be a 5 round multiclass championship with each race being contested once every 2 weeks. The categories in this series will be the GT3’s and BMW M2 CS’s. Race lengths are 2 hours and 24 minutes in length.
Round 1 will be at the Nurburgring. So, will all that practise pay off? Can I produce a great race result, or will I be struggling to keep pace? You good folks can find that out on race day!!
On Thursday, I’ll be participating in my community rally series with the awesome tarmac stages of Germany, in the most lethal rally cars ever produced. Group B! Hmmm….. I have a feeling this one will be tough but I’m willing to take on the challenge of taming the Peugeot 205 T16 (with its huge turbo lag) around the demanding tarmac event. 2 of my 3 attempts at the community rallies have been diasterous. But can I redeem myself? I hope so!!
Finally on Friday, I shall make a return to hosting my community convoys in Forza Horizon 5. I’m determined to make this a regular staple on the channel every week as a way of giving back to the community by inviting everyone to join in with me for some fun driving and racing around Mexico.
If you would like to join in for my weekly convoys, then please add me to your friends list on XBOX live (my gamertag is AMR DANI3L) and simply inform me of your GT so I can invite you into the events every week.
That’s about wraps things up for this week’s blog. If you want to, please be sure to follow me on Twitch for my live streams as well as subscribe to my Youtube channel for future video projects. You can also join our DiRT Rally 2.0 club for fun, monthly rally events and see how you fair against other members of the community.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read. Take care, stay safe & happy sim racing!!
