Women in sim racing continues with our resident sim racing female ambassador Yvonne Houffelaar. This week in blog #55 we catch up with her sim racing events and a great day out!

Welcome to my fifty-fifth weekly blog !!

Silverstone
On Saturday 12-03-2022, Sophie and I were at Silverstone. Watching TeamBRIT on track, in the pitlane, meeting other invited people, and promoting sim racing. There was also a sim racer, who is going to join eTeamBRIT. It was great to meet everyone, to celebrate their win, and learn more about autosport. It was a productive day, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future will bring!!

GT7 Special
On Sunday 13-03-2022, was the second episode of GT7 Special. I did some more menu’s and upgraded my license. I need to get better ratings, in the next stream it will be all about licenses.

PL4YR Red Bull x Endurance
On Wednesday 16-03-2022, was the PL4YR RBX Endurance, 90 minutes at Mount Panorama, with the Red Bull Junior. After some very busy days, I didn’t have time to practice. Arrive and drive is normally not going well in GT Sport, just because I don’t have much experience in the game. There were 3 classes, Red Bull Competition, Red Bull Standard, and Red Bull Junior. I was lucky, to drive the Junior, less fast, which means a bit easier in the mountain. I started P3 in the RB Junior, I tried not to crash in the mountain.

I had one incident, with another class car, who wanted to pass me in the mountain, but hit me instead. It gave me some damage, but luckily not much. I had one problem during the first pitstop, only 59% of fuel, which means I needed to stop extra. Luckily, my pace was getting better, the more laps I did, and I finished P3!! I had loads of internet problems, I needed to stop the stream, because everyone could see a black screen, instead of me driving. Sophie recorded the race for me, and you can watch it from today on YouTube!

Stream
Next week (week number 11), I cannot stream. The internet is bad, and I don’t think that I have a solution in time. I have a race on GT Sport, and the rest of the races I needed to cancel, because of the bad connection. Everything I drive, I will record it, and upload it on YouTube.

From sim racer to racing driver
On Tuesday, I will release my first vlog. You can follow my road to go back into racing! It will be very short videos, and I’m not very good at it yet, but I like to do it. The members from my Twitch channel will have early access to the vlog! I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes, and what the future will bring!!

Upcoming races

22-03-2022: My first vlog, is getting released!!
