The CMS NARS SC2018X Series recently rolled into Talladega in rFactor 2, here we have the race report of the event and series standings.

The CMS NARS SC2018X series in rFactor 2 continues to put on some great racing, recently, they visited Talladega. Here we have a full race report and how the race unfolded.

rF2 at CMS: Taking on ‘Dega with the SC2018X Series

While it was a ‘quiet’ week in rF2 racing for CMS, there was nothing quiet about the NARS SC2018X race held at Talladega Superspeedway! The “Loose Screw 150” featured 57 laps of thundering action for the 20 drivers contesting the 3rd round of the 8 race series.

It was Jair Oliviera that snagged the pole position, a rare feat for an AM driver with a number of experienced oval drivers in PRO category!

With the drop of the green flag, the field raced off in close quarters, the drivers showing off the stock car skills that they have been developing from the early races. By the 15 lap mark, two distinct groups had developed, with first Oliviera and then Norm Graf at the front of the lead group.

It was about the 20 lap mark that the wheels started to fall off – for some drivers, quite literally! While a series of yellow flags allowed for the field to close up and pitstops to be taken with only minor loss of position or time, a number of contenders found themselves on the wrong end of incidents, sidelining them in growing numbers as the race went on.

With 7 laps to go, Jason Whited led the field and was holding off the challenge of Eduardo Beninca however a final yellow left him vulnerable to a late charge from the final rolling green. Beninca got the better jump and was able to hold onto the top spot and cross the finish line only .2s ahead of Whited. Rounding out the PRO podium was George Angelidis while the AM podium was made up by Guilherme Bencke, Brandon McVeigh and Tony Boynton

With three rounds complete, the championship races are starting to heat up!
