Cats Charity Race
On Friday 28-01-2022, was the Cats Protection Charity Race, 3 hours at Spa Francorchamps. It was with a group 2 car, I chose the Nissan GTR. It felt stable and was one of the fastest cars at Spa.
I wanted to practice a lot more than I did because I didn’t have experience in a group 2 car at Spa. Unfortunately, I couldn’t because of my health problems, and my back, left hip, and legs were very bad.
I qualified surprisingly on P7, but I knew it was difficult to hold that position. I had a good strategy, thanks to Sophie Aeronwen, who tested the cars and strategy! I ended up P8, it was a tough race, and all about surviving. Normally I’m not very happy with P8, but this one makes me feel happy!
eSports Italia Women’s Championship
On Saturday 29-01-2022, was the qualifying for the eSports Italia Women’s Championship. This was going to be a tough one. The organization decided that they were going to announce the track and car on the same day as the qualifying.
Luckily we had a little bit of time to practice! Sophie, Shawn, and I, practiced as much as we could at the end of the afternoon. It was the Porsche GT3 at Interlagos. After an hour of practice, I got a bit on pace compared to them.
We knew if we drive those lap times we will be in. In the qualifying, I was a little bit slower than my PB, but my PB was a miracle lap. The three of us are qualified, also Cass from eTeamBRIT is qualified for this season!!
SimARG Girls Racing Cup
On Sunday 30-01-2022, was the third round of the SimARG Girls Racing Cup. It was an important round, I needed to gain points for the championship. I was 5 points behind the number 2, which means I was P5 in the championship.
It was very close, and I needed some good results! Sophie’s help was mega, with practicing but also in the race! I had a very good quali lap, a new PB. I qualified P2, Sophie had the pole.

In the first corner, I overtook Sophie, and she had the cutback. We drove a few laps behind each other, and we were gaining loads of seconds on the cars behind. I passed Sophie in lap 8, and won the feature race!
After the win, it meant that I needed to start last for the sprint race, which is 5 laps. After a bad start, I drove back to P2, Sophie finished P3. I gained a lot of points in the championship, I’m now 2nd in the standings, Sophie has a comfortable lead! A teammate James, give us the new hashtag; #TeamYvonneAndSophie !!
RCI Diamond Drive Cup
The RCI Diamond Drive Cup is back for season 3!! On Wednesday 02-02-2022, was the first round at Suzuka. I didn’t have much energy to practice, didn’t feel very well, but still wanted to drive for some points!
I drove maybe 20 laps of practice, and Sophie did all the good setup work!! I’m driving in the Silver Class, in Bernadette (the Bentley). I didn’t have a good qualifying, I qualified P10,P4 in class.
After a good start, and unfortunately a crash in front of me, from Sophie and April, I was at P7. I could hold the gap with Firri in P6 (P1 in class) for around 3 seconds, what I didn’t know was that she was going to change tires in the mandatory pitstop.
The mandatory pitstop needs to be 1 liter of fuel, and that’s it. I only pitted for 1 liter of fuel. It gives me the lead in the Silver class. Sarah Johnson drove a very good race, and came very close in the end! The last 30 minutes were a struggle, my legs were giving up, and I just needed to keep it on track. I ended up P1 in Silver Class, my first win at the RCI Diamond Drive Cup!!
