F1 Pro Esports Championship Is Epic Rounds 7 & 8 Race Report

Whilst the F1 championship is being played out in the motorsport world, the F1 Pro Esports Championship is on another level and making a real point that esports is here to stay.

The F1 Pro Esports Championship rounds 7 and 8 can only be summed in in a few words ” THE GLOVES ARE OFF AND THE BARE KNUCKLE BRAWL BEGINS”.

Ladies and gentlemen, if i may have your attention please, make no mistake about it , this championship is on fire and will be spoken about for years to come.

Whilst we see the Formula 1 championship with Hamilton and Verstappen going toe to toe, the Esports racers in the pro championship are shouting from the rafters too!

Round 7 visited Portimao with an incredible start and return from the mid season break, I called it yesterday in my build up article, those who have been working hard during the break will reap rewards.

Forming up on the grid with Lucas Blakeley Aston Martin Cognizant Esports on pole,  David Tonizza FDA Ferrari team in second and Dani Moreno Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Esports in third the stage was set. Championship leader Jarno Opmeer Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Esports was sitting P11 on the grid with a few challenges ahead.

Lights out and Blakeley held his own to turn 1 with Tonizza and Moreno playing it safe and maintaining position. Opmeer had a decent start and picked up a few positions. Blakeley had the hammer down from the green light opening a growing lead of 0.700 by the end of the first lap over Tonizza in p2.

Red Bull Racing Esports drivers Rasmussen and Kiefer who were on form before the mid season point seem to have had the wind taken out of their sails and broken the positive morale. From seeing the webcam of Kiefer, he did not seem comfortable at all, something was up.

BY lap 3 Blakeley was in another postcode by breaking the 1 second DRS barrier to Tonizza in P2. Without giving away to much of the race you can see the full replays right here. Further below shall be the results.

Round 7 Results

Round 8 pushed immediately on the next race of this double header and Zandvoort was the destination. Bari Boroumand for Mclaren Shadow was on pole with red Bulls Frederik Rasmussen P2 and Blakeley sitting third. Jarno Opmeer was 7th and Marcel kiefer in P12.

Lights out Rasmussen and Boroumand are banging wheels throw turns 1 and beyond. Frede did not want to be giving this one up and took the lead. With 25 laps to be played out on this roller coaster of a track the drivers and teams had many battles. By lap 5 drivers were pitting in and launching back onto track. The undercut/overcut strategies were being played out right before our eyes.

As with round 7 the full race replay is above for both rounds and the results shall be displayed here for round 8 below.
