Munich – The start of the VCO ProSIM SERIES on Tuesday sees the 2021 Esports racing season enter the final stretch.
For the second time, the Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) invites the worldwide sim community to determine the most successful and influential protagonists of the year and present them with a special trophy: the VCO SIMMY AWARD.
Effective immediately, fans can nominate their favourites online in twelve categories, at v-c-o.info/nominations.
This period will run until 14th November. It will be followed by the two-week “Voting Phase”, in which the community will choose between the five most popular nominees.
All winners – and a new inductee into the SIMMY “Hall of Fame” – will then receive their trophies at a virtual prize ceremony on 26th December 2021.
There are two new SIMMY categories in 2021: “Best Photography” and “Best Video Content”. These demonstrate how the VCO is keeping pace with the increasing importance and professionalism of content creation in Esports racing. “The reactions to last year’s VCO SIMMY AWARDS were very positive,” said Florian Haasper, CEO of the VCO. “Being chosen by the community meant a lot to the prize-winners – regardless of the category. We have made a few changes for 2021.This time, it is the community alone that decides who has earned a SIMMY. Plus, we have added the Photo and Video categories. I am looking forward to finding out who will receive a trophy at our prize ceremony on 26th December.”
