RCI Endurance World Challenge

Last Saturday 02-10-2021, was round 2 of the RCI Endurance World Challenge. A challenge it was, I drove the 12 hours at Donington together with Sophie Aeronwen.

We knew it was going to be a tough and very long race. 12 hours race driving with 2, and not much practice, is a guarantee for a challenge.

I wasn’t at home the week before the race, I only did some practice on Friday evening with Sophie. 50 laps in the rain, and also 50 laps in the dry conditions. I didn’t race on Donington before and wasn’t very comfortable with the track.

Sophie qualified in P22 (only 1.1 seconds from the pole, the qualifying was very close). After a few stints we were around P12, then there was an accident with a Porsche and we had a minute repair, also a drive-through due to track limits and we lost 10 positions.

Luckily, with a good 6 hours after, we could drive back to P15! Very proud of this result, it was a bit of torture but also fun!!

Theamusante Wavy World Tour Final Round

The final round of the Wavy World Tour was 4 hours at Spa Francorchamps. Because it was a busy weekend of sim racing, Sophie and I decided that I will drive the qualifying and the first two hours.

After that Sophie will drive the last 2 hours, and I was going to the next race. I didn’t do any practice for the race, I asked Alethea Boucq for her tire pressures in wet and dry. The official practice was dry, and then the qualifying was wet.

I didn’t do any wet practice, and it was very interesting. Luckily after a few laps, I adjusted the tire pressures, and it was a lot better. I qualified in P8. The race started also in wet, it was difficult because my tire pressures were all over the place.

An incident in lap 2, where a crashed car was standing, and I saw the car too late, I just drove to the first pitstop (after more than an hour, and did the repair), it was going to get dryer and I drove it till we could go to the dry tires.

I drove back to P4 and closed the gap till P3. Unfortunately, I drove 2 track limits and Sophie also. We had a drive-through and Sophie drove 2 good stints, and we ended up P5. We ended P5 in the championship!!

Pro League Racing; Team Championship

In meantime the Wavy World Tour was still going, I started the official practice, for the Pro League Racing; Team Championship. The race is for 2 hours at Zandvoort. Luckily, Zandvoort is my home track and I know it very well.

Sophie and I drive this team championship, and we are driving Bernadette (the Bentley). I qualified on P4, I also holt P4 with a gap to the cars in front and behind. I had huge pressure lost and, I ended up driving with24.6 PSI.

It was a challenge also because we were very tired already from all the driving. Luckily the tire pressures for Sophie were a lot better, and she drove a very good stint and we finished P4! It’s a good start to this team championship and I’m looking forward to the next race on Sunday 31 October at Zolder.

The Sim Grid Endurance Cup S4

On Saturday 9 October it’s time for the first race of the new endurance cup season. I drive with Alethea Boucq and Mark Lewis, in split 2. The first race is at Spa Francorchamps, it’s going to be interesting to see how we are holding up in split 2.

The Sim Grid More Female Racers S4

On Monday 11 October, the first round of The Sim Grid More Female Racers is going to start. I’m really looking forward to driving together with Giorgio Simonini! We are a strong team together and I hope we can go for good results!

I drove the qualifying event last Sunday 03-10-2021 in the morning, I drove a 1:47.2 in the Ferrari 488 EVO, we all need to drive this car and it’s going to be a huge challenge for me because I’m always driving Bernadette.

I was pretty happy with my time, the qualifying event is till Friday 8 October, but I’m in the UK till Friday 8 October I can’t try to go for 1:46, which I really wanted to drive.

Upcoming races:

  • 09-10-2021: The Sim Grid Endurance Cup Season 4; first round 6 hours @ Spa Francorchamps
  • 11-10-2021: The Sim Grid More Female Racers Season 4; first round 1 hour @ Monza
