Simracing expo 2021

From 17-09-2021 till 19-09-2021 was the Simracing Expo at the Nürburgring. I was there 18-09-2021 and 19-09-2021!

It was very nice to meet more teammates from GTWR R8G Academy!!

I also met Giorgio Simonini and Giorgio Cornacchia, I always talk to them for the female team and also the social media from GTWR R8G Academy. GTWR R8G Academy is a special team and a family!

It was very nice to meet them and also to meet other people at the simracing expo. I tried the Fanatec Bentley wheel, which is amazing and I can’t wait till I can buy the wheel!! I was at Heusinkveld, to meet them and also the person who arranged the special pedals for me!

It was very good to thank them and meet them! I found out, that braking with a clutch pedal on the wheel is worth trying. My left leg was very bad during the weekend and I tried for the first time; giving throttle with my right leg and with my left hand braking with the clutch on the wheel.

I found out it worked a lot better than I expected, I’m going to practice it more and I can use it also in races.

For GTWR R8G Academy it was a huge success, in the Professional Trophy Dennis Schöniger got second, in a very exciting race!! He drove very good, the pressure was high and we are very proud of him and the team!! I had an amazing time and meet a lot of people!!

Theamusante Wavy World Tour

On Friday 17-09-2021, was round 6 of the wavy world tour, 2 hours at Bathurst. I drove together with Sophie Aeronwen. I did an hour practice before the race and that didn’t go well, I was a bit worried about the 2 hours race.

I qualified on P8, not a very good qualifying but it was something were we could build from. Driving in the mountain is all about surviving. After the first stint we were on P3, lot of teams had damage and luckily I could drive without damage.

The second stint was an hour, we needed to do 2 mandatory pitstops. Sophie drove very good, till she lost it in the mountain, with an hour to go we had a minute damage and we did the last mandatory pitstop.

I drove the last hour, I could gain a couple of places. I also spun in the mountain, didn’t hit the wall and drove Bernadette (de Bentley) on the edge to gain more positions. After the spun I knew it’s going to be P7.

Not too bad consider 1 minute of damage, but there was a podium in it, we had a good race. The final round of the Wavy World Tour is Sunday 03-10-2021.

Pro League Racing; World Tour

On Monday was the World Tour Round 2, 1 hour at Paul Ricard. I didn’t had time to practice and did 4 laps before the official practice started. I knew this is going to be difficult, to get a good result in the Pro Class.

I heard from some drivers there was rain, when I was in the server there was no rain, also not in the official practice and qualifying. I qualified P28, not good.. Then the race start, dark and rain..

Luckily I got Sophie her tire pressures, I used them with the start and adjusted the tire pressures for the mandatory pitstop. After the pitstop I had some more pace and I ended up P21.

Upcoming races:

  • 23-09-2021: The Sim Grid Sprint Cup Final Round
  • 90 minutes @ Spa Francorchamps
  • 27-09-2021: Pro League Racing; World Tour Round 3, 90 minutes @ Nürburgring
