Women in sim racing continues with all the events and races from Yvonne Van den Berg and her weekly blogs. We have enjoyed all the events and journey with Yvonne here at simrace247.com. This weekly blog was a slight change to the usual as a big surprise was in store for someone.

Welcome to my twenty-six weekly blog!!

Pro league Racing; World Tour
The final round off the PRL World Tour was 1 hour at Bathurst. I knew it’s going to be a difficult one… I practiced a lot when I was at home, for the race I used the rig from Sarah.

It was very difficult, I didn’t had my adjusted pedal plates. That was a big challenge, my feet were sliding off the pedals. The input from the pedals was on the right of the screen. (Normally I use a special dash, to see what I’m doing with my pedals.

I needed points, that was my goal and survive the mountain!! I qualified very badly and started around 20th place, my start was very good and for a while, I was in 9th place.Unfortunately, the trouble came later, my feet were sliding off in the mountain and I crashed hard. We had one mandatory pit stop and I did it right away, 1 minute and 30 seconds off damage.

I knew a good result wasn’t in it, but a couple of points I need for the championship. I ended at place 23 and had a couple of points. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for place 3 in the championship and I ended at place 4!

I’m not happy with it, but my race was not pro class worth it..!! I knew it was going to be tough, but this was a disaster and all about surviving.
Place 4 is something to be proud of, only I was so close to getting place 3, I will maybe be proud of it later.

Meeting
I finally could meet some of the ladies from GTWR R8G! I meet Sophie, Sarah and Alethea!
We surprised Alethea with her birthday BBQ, she didn’t know I couldn’t come to visit her. It was amazing to see her face, when I give her a video call and standing in her street! We all spent a lot off time together with sim racing but also in the voice chat.

Sometimes I talk with them a lot more then with my own husband. I could see a lot from the United Kingdom, I saw a lot of the hills and even “walked” there together with Sophie!! I made a lot of pictures with my camera and I enjoy the British food.

I have a great time, to never forget and I will enjoy the next couple of days!
