Women in Sim racing Continues with our Yvonne Van Den Berg weekly blogs.

Welcome to my sixth weekly blog! 08-04-2021

It is a special one this week because something very special has been announced!
There are some great things going on, I am really looking forward to announcing them in this blog.

The Sim grid More Female Racers Season 3
By Thrustmaster Rockets

The More Female Racers season three was announced yesterday by Alethea Boucq (Theamusante).
Théa was the person who created the More Female Racers championship, she did this because it was important to her to bring more female racers in the sim racing world!
I’m really looking forward to next season.
It’s a slightly different format compared to last season, we’ve now got seven rounds, each round will be a 90 minutes race instead of the previous 60 minutes races.
The female driver still has to do the qualifying, start but they now have to also end the race. All teams will be driving the same car, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

GTWR Female Racing

GTWR Female Racing is going to drive with 5 teams this season!
For me, it’s going to be a different challenge as I will drive with Sketch Reyna as a co-driver. It will be my first time being the co-driver and I’m really looking forward to helping her progress and I know we are going to have a great time!

The calendar MFR S3:

19-04-2021 Round 1 @ Monza (qualifying ends/meet and greet event)
26-04-2021 Round 2 @ Zolder
10-05-2021 Round 3 @ Monza
24-05-2021 Round 4 @ Spa Francorchamps
07-06-2021 Round 5 @ Kyalami
21-06-2021 Round 6 @ Brands Hatch
05-07-2021 Round 7 @ PUBLIC VOTED TRACK

More Female Racers Season 2

My first time in the More Female Racers series was for Season 2, I didn’t have a co-driver when I signed up as a female driver.
I didn’t want to wait for The Sim Grid to give me a co-driver, so I decided to send a message in the “Find-a-team” section of the Sim Grid discord and my message was: “I’m looking for a teammate! I’m a female driver with not much experience and not super fast, but I want to train much and to learn a lot!!” My message got the attention of Giorgio Simonini and Alethea Boucq who both messaged me, I joined the GTWR Team and it brought me more than I ever could have dreamed of!!

If you are a female driver and also want to join, just do it!!
Take a look at the Sim Grid website for more details, that’s where you can sign up.
Even if you don’t have a co-driver it’s not a problem, someone might message you to be your co-driver and if not you will get a co-driver after the qualifying event just as the girls did in MFR1, none of them knew who they would be paired with at the time and they all ended up loving, so don’t be scared!

I hope to see you all on track!!
