VCO and The Sim Grid present the ‘World Cup’ on ACC

Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) is expanding its involvement in Esports racing and will feature prominently on Assetto Corsa Competizione platform in the future.

‘The Sim Grid x VCO World Cup’ comprises five races between April and October, with a prize purse of 20,000 US dollars. The championship is organised by The Sim Grid, with title partner VCO primarily offering support with communication and content creation for the GT series.

The calendar will feature 12 and 24-hour races, which will take place on some of the most spectacular circuits on Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC). The season kicks off on 3rd April with the 12 Hours of Bathurst.

The virtual World Cup circus will then be travelling to Spa-Francorchamps (for a 24h event), Donington and Kyalami. A 24-hour race at the Nürburgring will conclude the World Cup on 2nd/3rd October.

A maximum of 50 four-driver teams will compete in two splits. The 15 finalists from last year’s inaugural season are automatically invited. The remaining places will be allocated to professional Esports racing teams and guest starters.

“The strategic partnership with The Sim Grid and our future presence on Assetto Corsa Competizione are very significant for VCO,” said Florian Haasper, CEO of Virtual Competition Organisation.

“ACC is a popular platform that is growing all the time. To be able to run a top series on this stage, together with The Sim Grid, is a fantastic opportunity. I am sure that The Sim Grid x VCO World Cup will delight fans, and I am very much looking forward to working with David Perel and his team.”

“It’s really exciting to have an established esports brand like VCO become involved with The Sim Grid,” said David Perel, founder of The Sim Grid.

“The companies complement each other very well and collectively we are aiming to break new ground in Assetto Corsa Competizione. I’m really looking forward to this partnership and most importantly, the innovation we can bring to all our users and competitors.”

The Sim Grid offers amateur and professional Esports racers the opportunity to compete against other drivers from all over the world on Assetto Corsa Competizione, in leagues and in endurance events.

The Sim Grid community has grown to over 15,000 members in a short time. Among other things, the software offers innovative competition management, broadcasts and functions for daily races.
