Advanced Simulation Modding Group and SIMRACE247 have combined to form ‘Team Spirit by Advanced Simulation’ racing on the rFactor 2 platform in high-level sim racing events.
The partnership combines the modding and technical expertise of the Advanced Simulations crew with the media and marketing elements that are the SR247 area of expertise.
Team principal and driver Nick Stepanenko explained, “This week our modding group together with Simrace247.com launched online championships team project for the rFactor2 platform! The team will be called “Team Spirit by Advanced Simulation” and our first joint championship will be a mini-season in a 2013 Nissan GT-R GT500 class car in the SimRace.SU community.
“Our goal is to jointly promote our brand and take part in championships with an interesting concept or a high level of race organization. For the first season, I chose the site on which I myself once did races and created history.
“Now, together with Paul Velasco, I decided to organize a racing team to participate in competitions and increase the brand awareness of Advanced Simulation and SIMRACE247.
“We have realistic ambitious goals and plans for this year, we are confident that our model of interaction with the community can appeal to all fans of online racing, so we feel it’s time to grow and develop as a brand.
“We at Advanced Simulation spent most of 2020 building connections and maximising our abilities to produce top-tier content for rFactor 2 in the coming year and 2021 will be the next step in this exciting project,” added Nick.
Meanwhile, the first round of the championship, which will be held in four stages on Asian tracks – Autopolis International, Fuji Speedway, Korea International Circuit and Buddh International Circuit – each of which will host two races: a short ten-minute sprint and a long forty-minute race with a mandatory pit stop.
A unique feature is that the starting grid for the first race of the season was determined today in a random draw format.
SIMRACE247 team captain Elliot Simpson will drive the #71 car the pilot we confirmed at the very last moment thanks to the help of our new partners.
Elliot will start the race from fourth on the grid and we hope that he will be able to show an excellent pace during the short race and bring as many points as possible to our team.
Next, 11th on the grid is the #14 car of Nick Stepanenko – the head of the Advanced Simulation team and modding group. SIMRACE247 ace sim racer Vladislav Zenkov, who will drive the #52 car.
Nick Stepanenko, Team Principal: “After a long hiatus to develop my creative project, I am returning to racing with my own modding group’s team thanks to the support of Simrace247.com! This is a great opportunity for me to learn a lot from Paul and his team, organize a big racing project and inform everyone about our modding group around the world! We believe in our concept and our strengths, the goal is to convince the sim community to race with us and be part of our journey.
Paul Velasco, Team Partner: “Nick and I connected late last year and I have total belief in his projects. His commitment, dedication and passion is the type of spirit that we look for in partners. What started as a conversation has so far resulted in Team Spirit as we see it now.
“The plan is to create a powerful squad to tackle rFactor 2 races and series, while being part of the Advanced Simulation prototype testing and related projects gives us an opportunity to derive unique and excellent products for our readers and ultimately the sim racing community as whole. SIMRACE247 and I look forward to the journey with Nick and the Advanced Simulation team. See you on track.”
