Watch live as Team SimRace247 take on Road Atlanta for the 10 Hour iRacing Petit Le Mans.
The team, led by Elliot Simpson with Chase Herholdt, Kewyn Snyman, and John Henri Vaughan hit Road Atlanta with the BMW M8 GTE.
After some strong performances in previous special events, the team is looking to take it one step further and bring back some silverware to show for their efforts.
Simpson put the SimRace247 BMW on pole position in the GTE field by two-tenths of a second.
Here’s what Elliot had to say after his first one-hour stint:
“Qualifying was enough to put us on pole position, I felt that there was definitely more time to be gained. I can’t complain though!
“The car felt really good straight away and I led from the get-go. The top three pulled away from the rest of the pack. Once traffic reached us we managed to pull a gap on those behind and eventually they fell further back due to spins and contact.
“We kept it clean apart from a minor scrape in the opening laps and I managed to keep the pace consistent and fast. The car felt very good and did everything I wanted it to. By the end of the two hours I’d managed to pull a whole lap on p2.
“A very successful stint indeed. And now I’ve passed the car into the capable hands of John Henri who’s increasing our lead!”
