Video: The rFactor 2 problem?

You Tuber and sim racer Davy Jones looks at rFactor 2 featuring the best physics in simming yet the title cannot able to muster two-digit fields in open servers on any given day, despite a big selection of quality content.

Jones said ahead of this video: “This is one I’ve been thinking about for a long time while observing and making some notes. And it seems I’ve finally gotten round to putting a video on the topic together.”

  1. The UI is a major turn off but ultimately having to open ports and follow guides in order setup a dedicated server before anyone can even race together makes it really difficult to get everyone racing. This is doubly true if the track or cars you want to drive are not official.

    Someday, I hope that they will offer the ability to create a server that is hosted on their end without the need to follow a specific set of instructions. Also, they need to make it so that if a player joins a server that is using a specific car or track, that it will download the necessary cars/tracks during the connection process.

    It’s still technically a largely unfinished title but the physics is definitely 2nd to none so hopefully brighter days have yet to come for them.
