Nekrews 51 have published this video showing an onboard lap with Max Verstappen in his 2020 Red Bull RB16 around the old Spa-Francorchamps circuit from 1966, using the payware Formula Hybrid 2020 Mod for Assetto Corsa by Race Sim Studio.
The 1966 Belgian Grand Prix was held over 28 laps (395.36 km) around the 14.120 km venue, which included the legendary hairpin as we know it as well as Eau Rouge, Raidillon, Kemmel, Les Combes, Stavelot and Blanchimont.
That year the fastest lap of 3:38.0 was set by John Surtees driving a Ferrari, and went on to win the race by a comfortable margin. Ironically it was to be the 1964 F1 World Champion’s last race for the Scuderia.
Max, of course, has only ever blasted around the modern 7km edition of the track where his best effort last year in qualifying was 1:44.622.
