iRacing has teased the release of it’s newest track, the Nashville fairgrounds Speedway in Tennessee. The new track will join the sim in September.
Opening in 1904, Nashville is home to years of NASCAR history and is the oldest continuously operated race circuit in America.
The main 0.6 mile paved oval has hosted NASCAR Cup Series between 1958 and 1984 but hasn’t returned since 1985 because of a disagreement concerning who would own and operate the track. NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip won 9 and 8 races respectively, with Waltrip winning 5 of 6 races between 1981 and 1984.
The Xfinity and Truck series also ran at the Fairgrounds Speedway up to 2000 after which the newer Nashville Superspeedway took over proceedings.
The Fairground is also the home of the All American 400 race as well as the ARCA Menards series which continues to race at the track.
The main 0.6 mile oval features 18 degree banking and also includes a smaller 0.25 mile legends track on the infield.
As like other iRacing content, the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway has been laser scanned and will be available in September.
