Round 12 of the eNASCAR Coca Cola iRacing Series takes us to Daytona, but theres a twist…
The altered 2020 calendar due to the global pandemic has brought in a couple of unexpected circuits. One of them being the Daytona Road Course.
Tonight’s action will give us an insight into what to expect with this weekends real racing with the Cup Series’ first laps of the track being when the green flag drops for the race.
The virtual action includes 45 tours of the 3.57 mile road course and with this being the first race at the track, it’s tough to make predictions.
However, last season it was Bobby Zalenski who was untouchable on the road circuits. Zalenski led every lap of both races at Charlotte’s Roval and Sonoma.
If the last four road-course races are any indication, it’ll be a walk in the park for Bobby Zalenski, who’s undefeated in road racing since 2017. He’s never lost a road-course race since joining the series, so he’s the clear-cut favorite in our Power Rankings.
That being said, the Daytona Road Course is a different animal. It’s new to the Coca-Cola Series schedule, and the latest track modifications are new to iRacing as a whole – everybody’s going in with high hopes and a clean slate.
Action gets underway at 9pm ET. It’s one you can’t miss.
