Ferrari to launch own eSports series

Ferrari has announced this evening the launch of a brand new eSports series: The Ferrari Hublot Esports Series.

The competition is designed to help Ferrari identify new talent, giving competitors the opportunity to be spotted, or even snapped up by the Ferrari Driver Academy.

There are two tiers to the competition: PRO and AM.

The AM Series will see drivers selected through a series of weekly qualifiers throughout September. Six drivers from each heat will qualify to race in the AM Series which gets underway in September.

The PRO Series will see 24 professional sim racers and well-known faces within the community be invited to partake in the competition. The PRO Series also gets underway in October.

Competitors will be given exclusive access to a Ferrari 488 Evo for Assetto Corsa, on which the series’ will be run.

Recently, Ferrari has been seen to make further jumps into the virtual world. Having taken up a slot on the F1 Esports Series grid and Charles Leclerc leading the team in the Virtual Grands Prix.

Ferrari also have their own Esports team which has been enjoying more attention from the marque. The FDA Hublot Esports Team, within which a place is up for grabs, has seen some great synergy being forged between the real Ferrari Driver Academy and beyond.
