Assetto Corsa Server: Ferrari F2004 Hot Laps @Red Bull Ring

  • by

Troy Dolinschek scorched to the top of the simRACE247.com Assetto Corsa Server Red Bull Ring Hot Lap timesheets in our first shootout with the iconic Ferrari F2004.

simRACE247 driver, Troy topped the timesheets at the end of two weeks with a best lap time of 1:06.020 around the virtual version of the Austrian (and Styrian) Grand Prix venue.

The South African 14-year-old was a mere 0.013 of a second faster than second-best Poki:ger and seven-tenths up on third-fastest W-Equestris. simRACE247 team manager and hobby simmer Sam Tomlinson made it into the top ten with his best effort of 1:07.177.

A total of 78 sim drivers set times during the ten-day period, and while there was little to separate the top two, it was also close behind them with a second between third fastest and 15th on the timesheet.

The Ferrari F2004, which took Michael Schumacher to his final title in 2004, never raced at Red Bull Ring as the Austrian venue slipped off the calendar after 2003, returning at the Red Bull revamped race track in 2014 thus a comparative time between real and virtual not an option.

This first Hot Laps shootout was a beta test phase for our projects, which will be using Assetto Corsa as a platform for similar online events, as well as Club and League racing in the future. Watch this space!
